Rahman cause he has the versatility to touch more than just Bollywood. He is the first true "Indian" music director. Most of his predecessors and contemporaries have excelled in regional movies or in Bollywood, whereas ARR has done it everywhere, plus his music is still comparable to the legends like RD Burman.

RD Burman without a doubt. His songs are timeless! AR is an exceptional music director but I would not be surprised if AR voted for RD too.
