'Alien' Creature Discovered In South Africa Is Actually A Misshapen Baboon, Vet Says http://main.aol.com/2013/07/11/alien-creature-discovered_n_3582388.html

A strange discovery in Africa recently had locals questioning if there was an alien in their midst. Several photos taken by national park ranger Llewellyn Dixon show what appears to be an alien creature in South Africa. However, the questions surrounding the unusual-looking carcass were disbanded when a local veterinarian performed an autopsy and confirmed the creature is not an alien as some suspected, The Herald reports. "Anyone could see it was baby baboon," Dr. Magdalena Braum of The Crags Veterinary Clinic said, according to Times Live. SCROLL FOR PHOTOS Dixon's 17-year-old son discovered the "alien-like" remains near Nature's Valley, a southern resort town neighboring Plettenberg Bay. While the elongated carcass may not closely resemble a living baboon, Braum further explained that the corpse appears misshapen because the baboon was carried around by the mother after the baby's death. "We have seen it quite often in baboon research troops, when females carry the deceased infants sometimes for as long as three to four weeks on their tail section before finally discarding them," Braum told Algoa FM. Indeed, researchers have documented recurring incidences of primate mothers refusing to let go of deceased offspring. In 2010, a team of scientists studying a community of chimpanzees in Guinea witnessed this behavior, relating it to the strong mother-infant bond often seen in primates. "[P]rimate infants are born completely helpless and undergo a slow process of maturation during which time they are completely reliant on the mother," zoologist Dora Biro of the University of Oxford told LiveScience in 2010. "So the fact that dead-infant-carrying is seen in other species of primates is not so surprising."

In the mean time, in prime time new in Gliese 581G national network: Scientists have discovered a new planet far away where it rains water (everyone gasps in terror). Scientists believe the planet's atmosphere is so deadly that there is no possibility of any life there. The press release said "the plenet's atmosphere is full of poisonous gases like Oxygen and Hydrogen. It's surface temperature seems to be freezing cold. Wind seems absolutely still. And the scariest part is that 70% of it's surface seems to be filled with a deadly chemical called Water and in whatever solid land they have, it rains water from time to time. The lack of boiling hot plasma and insufficient amount of raining glass, two essential elements for any kind of life to prosper, indicate there can not be any life on that planet. However, there is a possibility that the planet looks just exactly like our own planet, blue.

It might be suited to HD-189733b, in MTC's post. :giggle: Gliese 581G tops the list of Earth like planet. Earth like means, it has a sun like ours, and it's in the habitable zone.

Norwegian town to get sunlight for the first time in 100 years

Residents in Rjukan, a Norwegian industrial town nestled in a narrow valley in central Norway, will get some sunlight on the town square from this September, breaking a history of over 100 years of having no sunlight in winter. If everything goes as planned, sunlight will be beamed onto the square in front of the town hall from the three mirrors erected 450 meters high on the mountainside, reported Xinhua. The installation of the mirrors, which began July 1, 2013, has already been completed. On Monday, workers and technicians were giving the five-million-kroner project a final touch.

Vampire Couple Drink Each Other's Blood, Say It's More Intimate Than Sex FehWmULnq2Q

Most couples like to share a glass of wine after a long day, but Lia Benninghof and Aro Draven prefer to drink...each other. The self-proclaimed 'vampires' drink each other's blood once a week, as is shown in the graphic video above. Benninghoff, 20, and Draven, 38, are both from Haverhill, Surrey (the gentle, countryside market town) on a dating website in February. Both were into goth, but Draven was the one who suggested the blood drinking. “When he explained that blood sharing would bring us closer together, I asked him to turn me," Benninghoff said, according to the Daily Star. "Aro cut himself with a razor and offered me his blood. Then I cut myself and he drank from me too. Suddenly I felt the energy rushing through me. It was a magical experience –- much more intimate than sex.†It makes Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton's blood vial necklaces seem positively tame. Aro Draven - formerly Glen Layton - is an unemployed 38-year-old father-of-five - claims to hail from the same region of Romania as Vlad the Impaler. The couple plan to get married on Halloween this year, reports Hir24.hu, but whether they will work up the nerve to tell Benninghoff's parents remains to be seen. She told Barcroft TV: "My parents are totally happy with the relationship I have with Aro [but] they don't know we're both vampires and that Aro was the one who turned me." Benninghoff wants to assure people that they don't flit around Haverhill biting people. She explained to The Sun: She explained: "It’s not like we’ll go round biting just any old person in the street. We only share blood with each other, and we’ve both had tests done." Since Twilight, The Vampire Diaries and True Blood, interest in vampires is still at an all-time high. HuffPost UK Lifestyle blogged about the 'vampire face lift' which involves injecting blood from the arm back into the facial area, and HuffPost US brought to our attention Julia Caples from Pennsylvania, who who drinks almost two litres of blood every month. She said, talking to the Mirror: "When I feed off of a person and drink their blood I feel stronger and healthier." We'll stick to spinach, thanks. Medical Daily voiced concerns about drinking blood such as blood-borne illnesses like bacterial infection, hepatitis, and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), adding: "By drinking human blood, or the blood of a cow and sheep, we run the risk of introducing prions into our system. These infectious proteins, usually located in the brain or along the spinal cord, have been known to cause mad cow disease by stimulating an inflammatory response in the body. "And, despite Caples' claims of the energizing effects of drinking blood, there are no benefits."

Raping daughters, granddaughters part of this family's tradition!

A 64-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly raping his two daughters and a granddaughter for several years in Bayan town of Bharatpur district, police said on Wednesday. "Babulal Dhakar's wife Shakuntala Dhakar was also arrested for supporting him in one of the most cruel acts of perversion," said Ashok Chouhan, SHO of Bayana Police Station. A local court on Wednesday sent the couple to judicial custody till July 31, SHO said. Dhakar was arrested after two of his daughters, along with their husbands, lodged an FIR on Tuesday, the SHO said, adding "the daughters were stunned to see that their father has molested the granddaughter a few days ago". The accused, Dhakar, is a retired supervisor from the Krishi Upaj Mandi, he said. The girls have alleged that their father exploited them physically for many years, and used to threaten them of dire consequences if they told anyone about the matter. "The mother used to pass off the matter as part of an age old tradition of Dhakar family," the SHO said quoting the FIR. A probe into the matter is on, he said.
