You want different levels, regions and so all in the end equal WORLD cup. World Cup is really about these moments, seeing the likes of lesser known teams and their immense passion. They won and really these are the moments which will be the highlights of the cup. Just like Bermuda fielder one hand catch remember?, Fifa World Cup Korea performances and crying of a player in national anthem. These are the things really which only enhances.

World Cup is a platform which minnows can use to get rid off minnows tag. If barred from world cup, how they will prove that they have improved?

Manny_Pacquiao Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 you will get the occasional mismatch, but if the ICC intends to expand the global reach of the game, it needs to include these other countries in big tournaments. ireland, holland, and canada today (even tho it was against a *****y team like pakis) showed that minnows can be competitive. sunil gavaskar also made the suggestion that every tour should include a match or two against associates from that region. so if india tours england for example, they should have a game against ireland as part of their tour. this will ensure that the associates are regularly playing against top teams.

We have the Asia cup almost every two years with the 4 sub continent sides. We should include the UAE, Afghanistan, HK and some other minnow from the region. There should be a Europe cup with Eng, Ireland, Netherlands and Scotland. It will be a very competitive tournament. Even a North American cup with W.Indies, Canada and the USA might help the game to spread further in that part of the world. Howzzat for an idea?

Cricket Pundits just talks big but when it comes down to the actual deed then its not worth it and the suggestions just flies out of the window.

I like. bw recent performances of Holland, Ireland, Canada will certainly make few minnow bashers scratch their heads. I will say it again, its not the teams, but the length which is the major problem.
