Heard sir Aggy is a commentor on the sky sports panel' date=' and is quite the suave articulate insightful bloke we've always known him to be.[/quote'] as long as he doesn't start doling out batting tips on how to face Aussie bowlers..

Hi, this is my first comment here. I remember Ganguly doing a short stint as a commentator sometime ago and he was really interesting to listen to. It was a game involving Sri Lanka and he was predicting which ball Mendis will bowl next and he was right on the money every time. Ganguly was great against spinners, offies in particular and he never failed to connect when he went down the track to them. He was also one of the best captains India ever had and obviously he has great insight into the game. Its a pleasure listening to him talk about the strategies and tactics and I feel he will get even better as he gets more comfortable in his new job. Sidhu on the other hand is really annoying and gets on my nerves most of the time.

Idiotism of Sidhu makes Ganguly look like the god of Cricket Analysis. I would like to see him party up with some of the pros. I think Aggy sir makes a better analyst. I know that it's too early to tell who's better but just a pre-assumption. It could be that possible the questions asked and discussed on are much more interesting that the questions asked by idiot Bhogle.

I am amazed how he keeps his cool while Sidhu goes berserk :cantstop:
If you look at G's face while paji talks, it feels like Ganguly wants to take off his shirt and whip Sidhu's as$ for the good.

But I heard his English skills are Very Poor? In fact Lack of it. Mariyam to Enlighten the Board on that after This Post.
Say what? :((   I agree with Shane in the OP. Ganguly not only has good insights, but also gets his point across without being confrontational. I think he will be the coach of the national team a few years down the line. I don't get why people are upset with Sidhu. Sidhu yaps aways to entertain. And entertain he does. In between he talks about cricket 10% of the times. I like Sidhu's commentary and his analogies. Most people don't watch the show for in-depth analysis or why a powerplay was taken in the 41-46 Overs and not 42-47 overs. They want to be told stuff that can be easily understood and can make them smile.

but the problem with Sidhu is that there's a difference between yapping away and not letting the other person (Ganguly or the other experts in this case) to speak or rudely interrupting them while they're talking sensible things about cricket instead of babbling away one muhawara after another. There's also another factor IMO - it is mostly those people who are really interested in the game of cricket who watch the pre/post match shows, others don't even watch the whole match forget about the pre/post match show. So the people who are interested in cricket and understand a thing or two about the game, want to listen to some cricketing sense rather than hindi muhawaras on a pre match show.

Let us not go too overboard here. Just because Gangu had a few good cricketing takes on a daily TV show does not equate to him being a national coaching material. If Gangu is interested in coaching let him show something at a lower level cricketing assignment perhaps at the state level like a Ranji team. We can take it from there.

If you ask me, I do not want any Indian to be Our Coach, Irrespective of How good his or her Views are on Cricket. In the past we have seen Indian coaches never worked for us. Two of Our most successful Coaches have been from Abroad. To add to that High Profile Coaches can Backfire , All of us know what happened with Chappal. Do not want another High Profile Coach. Ganguly should do his best for Bengal Cricket IMO, where we need him the Most.

He's been in the parliament since 2004. He won from the Amritsar seat twice , in the 2004 and 2009 general elections.

I agree, even if the indian coaches are really high quality. But they are indians afterall, so they will really get and feel the huge pressure on themselves.
