In my universe, they can't stop boasting about their team. In fact, if a new comer were to listen to Sky panel during the Ahes in England, he would be underthe impression that England have been dominating world cricket for last 20 years and Australians are just manging to stay in the hunt. They are atrociously biased to say the least. As for yesterday, O Brein left them no choice. You have to bite the bullet and praise the opposition.

Maybe that Natwest series final when India chased 325 and Ganguly waving his T-shirt on the Lords balcony still rankles him :--D

Australia were ordinary in the Ashes. 3-1 the scores read, also those were some brutal losses to England, by 100+ runs and an Innings what would you expect from them? Australia is no Bangladesh that they would praise them for these kinds of score, Australia are four times world champions and were ranked 1 for a decade also England played brilliant cricket in Ashes. Maybe you are used to NTV's hindhi biased commentary that's why you can't take any criticism of our team. Bumble, Nasser and Botham all have been rather pleasant to hear this world cup.

I am as big a critic if not a bigger critic of Indian team than those commentators. But your argument is that they are "unbiased" which is like saying Bill O Reilly and Glenn Back are unbiased because they attack govt. deficit which is a genuine problem.

If the opposing commentators mention India's bowling is not up to mark, the Indian cricket fans get all emotional and rile the commentators. If the opposing commentators heap praise on their team then they are extremely biased while we have the likes of Ravi Shastri, Gavaskar and the likes that just can't see beyond India. If India loses a game, it's down to conditions, umpiring decisions and several other reasons unthinkable and no credit given to the opponents meanwhile if India wins it's because India is too good for the rest. BTW I'm an Indian too, please don't get me wrong. I'm not quite ashamed to say we are one of the most emotional and sensitive cricket followers. We are always sore losers, just can't see beyond our batsmen, our team and our performance. For us, cricket is there because India plays cricket not the other way around :winky: I think the English commentators did wonderfully well last night, Naseer and Bumble were great. Ian Botham on the other night was good to listen to. I'm not sure what you guys expect from them? There are certainly whingers on the other side too and in aplenty particularly the Aussies and the Poms but we are no less than them. We are as poor as them. We always like to see others lose, doesn't matter who loses we rejoice. In fact we tend to rejoice others' loses than our wins :haha:
NareshK Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Not English commentators in general, but I always felt like Nasser Hussain and Atherton always had an axe to grind against India. They dont like Ganguly, in particular. Most Indian fans know this and if you dont, you are just wearing blinders. Ian Chappell always criticizes India and he even criticized Sachin when he was not doing particularly well but nobody points fingers at him because he does that to everyone.

Yesterday when he was talking about the Bell referal, he said something along the lines off - "Dhoni should shut up, and read the rules of the game properly instead of going after all sorts of endrosement contracts. Also when I am watching county cricket on sky he is having constant digs at the IPL. While he was saying this Athers the chodu was sniggering in the background.

I am sorry to pour cold water over your pre matured "gotcha" moment but those are completely out of context links to make your assertion. Must be some problem with your understanding of my comments or even those questions in the poll. Yes, I did back England to do well in the WC and I also started a thread stating that they have the best squad in tests which can dominate some time in the future.
