Because if that isn't the case then Pakistan's chances of going ahead in the KO stages will be very remote if Akmal still hovers around. How has Umar fared as a wicketkeeper so far? yes all of them are there... beside that, that is not the point..it would have been ok if it was once in a while thing but no this is like every match...so far he missed 2 easy stumping of Sangakara, and 3 drops against NZ..that is 5 chances in 4 matches. And its not like he has set the world on fire with his batting...he avg below 30. i wouldn't mind asad or whoever replace him drop a catch...but would we know if that other person can't do it if we dont give him a chance? i was so praying that this guy will also go with Butt, Amir and Asif, Malik, and Kaneria but somehow he got away...i hope and pray he get himself into some *****...that seems to be the only way to get rid of him

Why do they need such a player because their batting sucks. india also did the same in 2003 world cup. Forcing Dravid to keep in 2003. But i can say Dravid was better than Kamran Akmal is now. Dravid was a far better batsman than Kamran. The trade off should be worthy. Akmal is more like 25 runs in 35 balls guy most of the time. with terrible keeping reputation that is not going to cut it. You have to question the logic behind his selection.
ravishingravi Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 It is getting beyond ridiculous now. Luckily Pakistan is in a easy group. In KO if he drops a sitter and that players hurts them like Taylor did, then they have themselves to blame. Even Dravid as a part time keeper did a fair job.
