Question for Pak fans

It is difficult to balance this pakistan side. 5 years back Younis was not even a regular in pakistan odi set up. Now he is their leading batsman. That explains how they have regressed as a batting unit. Probably having the worst opening pair in this world cup. Two single paced middle order batsmen next to each other. Two brainless sloggers in the end. How are you going to balance this side.

What happened to Shoaib Malik? He could strengthen the batting.
Malik was not picked due to some corruption charges i think he was not able to explain his foreighn assets Kamran was also questioned but some how he got cleared

Everybody's been debating this since even before the WC. 3 options Those who think the bowling is weak: 1) Drop an opener and open with Akmal. 2) Drop Akmal and WK with Umar. Those who think the batting is weak think we need to keep the balance we have in case the batting collapses.

Younis Khan is a minnow basher in this format. He never gets runs against the best attacks. The problem with having him and Misbah as the two main batsmen is that they play at one pace. It's great when the lower order fire but if they don't, you end up with a mediocre total. Razzaq's bowling isn't good enough. He remains a dangerous hitter but bats too low. He should definitely bat above Afridi and could be used as a floater.

They will forget everything if one of their bowler bowls at 145 k. That is it. That will solve all their problems :cantstop:

Their new pace sensation might play the next match against Australia, Junaid Khan, heard he clocked 160kph with tape tennis, is a mystery for the Aussies. If Akhtar plays against Aussies, his career might be gone and dusted.

An interesting fact that both of them have almost exactly the same first class stats: Aamer: 21.48 avg, 3.09 eco, 41.5 SR Junaid: 21.32 avg, 3.00 eco, 42.5 SR

UG, good post...agree with most of the stuff you've said but i will change my team...i've been saying this even when we were winning and not after just after this bad performance.. I will drop Shazad the so called Sehwag is over hype...the guy has no clue what he is doing other than just going across and get lbw..i would drop hafeez too but we only have one batsmen in the squad so can't really drop him and gota live with his 20 avg for now since he can bowl some .. Hafeez Asad (proper batsmen, no slugger like kami/umar or shazad) MYK Misbah Umar (slugger, use him as a keeper or we can use Asad as keeper) Afridi Razi Riaz Ajmal/Reman Gul Akhtar with this line up we have at least 3 proper batsmen, hafeez is more of a bowler than a batsmen, Umar can have his days and than afridi and razak can do some damage... bowling we have gul, akhtar, riaz, rehman/ajmal and afridi with help from hafeez and razi..
Pretty close to what I would go for. Didn't know Shafiq was an opener as always thought of him as a middle order batsman. But agree that Shafiq couldn't do any worse than Shehzad or Hafeez who average in 20s. If I have to drop one of them to accomodate Shafiq I would drop Shehzad as Hafeez can be used as a bowling option, especially in the subcontinent.
