Australia definately need to improve, but India haven't been as impressive as people thought they would be. I think their bowling lacks a bit of punch. I'm going to tip Australia, but they will have to play better than they did against Pakistan.

What if the dew factor is not significant in the evening? We will be struggling to chase even a moderate total. Pressure of chasing means add another 30 runs. I guess you are having trouble comprehending my post. To illustrate: - Captain: 1. Looks at the possibility of dew 2. Determines how much of a factor dew can be * If dew isn't a factor or a huge factor ----> Bat first (which is what you should do in a pressure game) * If dew is suppose to be a huge factor ----> Field first (Only a fool would bat first, if dew is suppose to play a huge role like the ball getting all wet around the 20th over mark) In short, IF Ind wins the toss, it should bat first but IF dew is suppose to play a role, then field first I cut all that out and wrote "Only if dew is suppose to be a factor" in my very first post assuming that folks would be able to understand from where that line comes from :winky:

Lot of times predictions went totally wrong. It will be down to Pressure/Chasing under lights vs Dew . Dew unknown factor. The other one is known factor.

We have better spin, they have better pace. But from here on world cup is performance on a given day. If we can be fearful of a minnow upsetting a Test nation how much fearful we should be against 3 time world cup winners.

The most dew you will find in places like Mohali or Delhi or something more on the northern side. So your theory would hold true in places like that. What Ahmedabad has though is heat and terrible heat. It can get really muggy and drain you physically and mentally if there is no wind.

If not then I don't know why you have to keep posting as if I am saying that Ind should bat 2nd no matter what. As I said, "(Ind should bat 2nd) Only if dew is suppose to be a factor" :P For me, batting first or 2nd depends upon a lot of factors and even though I prefer to bat first, if dew is suppose to play a role then I wouldn't mind batting 2nd as I don't want our helpless bowlers to be in helpless situation. My decision is guided by conditions. Ofc, if dew isn't going to be a huge factor, Ind should bat first..
