Ranjha Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 If we win the toss, I think we should chase. Poll added.
urbestfriend Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Meh always bat first in pressure matches, especially against a mediocre Paki batting line up.
Sid Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Bat first and bat Pak out of the match,You dont want to chase in the pressure matches especially against Pak who are poor at chasing and can be lethal while defending any score .
Little_Master Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 we should chase...Pak will not know what target they can defend....I would say India can chase 300-325 easily. I also have the feeling that Pak will fall like a pack of cards trying to accelerate during PP. We should definitely chase.
zubinpepsi Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 there is no question about that.. we shud bat 1st... i hope dhoni wins this important toss...
b555 Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 zubin baba u sure ? :hmmmm: we r the big daddies of chasing :bigboss:
zubinpepsi Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 zubin baba u sure ? :hmmmm: we r the big daddies of chasing :bigboss: well i hope u had watched yday's game.. u can see the pressure getting on to the players..its difficult to chase on such high pressure matches..
Little_Master Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 well i hope u had watched yday's game.. u can see the pressure getting on to the players..its difficult to chase on such high pressure matches.. If we can chase 261 on a tough track against the Aussies, we should be able to chase 300 against the avg aussie attack @ Mohali which is batting friendly. I know for sure that Pak will stumble batting first...not knowing what total they can defend which will make the life of our batsmen easier. PS - Whats wrong with Sehwag...is he gonna be out of the crucial SF game?
Switchblade Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Bat first and try to get a total of 330 or so hope there will be no dew
boom_boom Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Hope Dhoni loses the toss and let the opposition decide it for us
Ranvir Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 I think it's better to bat second as we struggle to take early wickets.
Shane Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Its not easy chasing, even SA are finding it tough and I would to see Pakistani batting under lights chasing a decent score.
Laaloo Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 NO team should chase if they win the toss. It's a semi final, win the toss, bat first, put a huge score, and then watch the opponent crumble under lights.
Ranjha Posted March 25, 2011 Author Posted March 25, 2011 whats wrong with the majority? India should chase if we wanna guarantee a win.
The Outsider Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 whats wrong with the majority? India should chase if we wanna guarantee a win. Looking at the 'who voted' looks like only Pakis and Ranjha want India to chase. :winky:
Ultimate_Game Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Rule no. 1: Win the toss and bat Rule no. 2: Win the toss, think about bowling, and then decide to bat first In a high pressure game, never chase, especially if it's a batting pitch. We missed out on world cups in 96 and 2003 with our fetish to chase in crunch matches.
Zeemazing Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 I would suggest India Bat first Should they chase it will be like Champions Trophy 2009
punjabi_khota Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Bat first, bat big and see the cookie crumble for the pakizaas.
Show_stopper Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Normally I would say bat first but...our team has shown they are poor at defending totals in this tournament. The games against England and SA are a proof of this. And coincidentally we have also had finishing problems while setting targets!! Its best to avoid that.
