Manny_Pacquiao Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Just got back 15 mins ago. Crazy celebrations here in Mumbai. Crackers, people honking car horns( I'm guilty as charged).... people dancing. I think I got back home too early. Holy, DK and others in Mumbai... go to Bachelor's juicewala ( outside Grant road station, opp H20). I was there at around 12 :30 and he was distributing juice free of charge and big party going on there. Said he woudl do that till he runs out of stock. Now I doubt his being Gujju. Some of my friends and others threw juice on a reporter ( news x, I think) when he was covering the celebrations live, all in good spirits. Later cops came and confiscated the crackers. Who cares. I bought a mini India flag, a Dhoni mask and a sticker of Tendulkar for the car all off the road. Got fleeced big time but who cares. Nooranis I heard would be open till late night, and also that famous chaat centre at Kemps corner. Hadn't seen such a spontaneous outburst of emotions even after the t-20 win. I'm too drained/wasted/happy to think straight.:isalute: :icflove: to all amazing. whats gonna happen when we win on saturday...

Dinx - the Jinx Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 I'm back home in Blore after the street partying. Will post pics later. As soon as the win was completed, lot of ppl took to the streets and headed to MG Road area. By the time i reached there, police had cordoned off MG road. Has to take the rod to comm street, turn around at Indian Express and joined Queens Road. People were on cars, bikes, convertibles, etc etc. I saw one Innova packed with some 40 kids. Cars were stopping and a disco and dance floor was starting spontaneously. lot of booze flowing around. absolutely crazy. For the Final I'm heading to Chennai. I want to watch along with my school friends with whom I had watched many a India match in the 90s. This is the moment we had beeen waiting for. So I want to go and watch with them. Once we win, will hit the beach... :yay:
Lord Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 great celebrations here still going in will tell u a short story. at the start of WC my mom,who doesnt know ricket that much.was scolding me for not studying for exams.in SA game I told her its the WC.since then in every India game, she will come n ask whos batting first, whos winning, trying to understand the game.I get annoyed n ask her to go away saying she brings bad luck:giggle:.she goes n starts praying for the win n look in amazament as to who is supposed to be the cricket fan in the house.:giggle:.thats what WC does. today she just kept praying,n only from the firecrackers she would tell me that a Paki wicket has gone down n ask me whos in better position now.didnt watch single delivery today, even though she wanted tocall her superstitious or what.I can never do that
Zelig Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 ^^ :icflove: Brings back memories of my late grandma. She used to have a gujja full of water by her side n whenever we're in pressure situation, she used to have some. Also, she prays a lot during the match days. RIP.
Mariyam Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 amazing. whats gonna happen when we win on saturday... I can't even imagine. I don't think offices will function properly tomorrow and the day after. I'm a dumbass to have gone and worked the whole day today. Should have just taken half day. PS; Cracker/ confetti business seems a good bet for those of you with entrepreneurial skills. Act fast. You drink? Damn!! how unlucky of me to miss all this.. Have been asking some friends for tickets to the finals... though highly impossible.. if i do manage to get the tickets .. INSHAALLAH will fly to Mumbai tomorrow or day after!! You missed it man. Inshaallah you'll get the tickets and watch us win. If you don't you'll have to make do with my victory celebrations commentary. :P Some odd crackers still going off.
Mariyam Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 ^Jealous :hitler: PK I should be the one saying that. I heard that the celebrations in Punjab are absolutely killer. CNN-IBN is still showing some 'live' celebration vids from Chandigarh :icflove:
