Now 500 people are watching such big together in front of one big screen, instead of switching on their tv sets at their own house. That takes away 500 viewers away from stat. Hence forget the correct ratio, even the approximate amount of viewers are hard to count

Seems like a very low number to me. This is just ~6% of the Indian population. Obviously people from Pakistan also tuned in to the games and also did Indians and Pakistanis the world over. Something seems amiss.

I would beg to differ. 4 is the minimum no. of people per television set. In many cases you have larger families and of course you have large screenings in cities in pubs, theaters and also community screenings in rural areas. In my opinion the average would be higher than 4.
