Cricket Tragic Posted April 3, 2011 Author Posted April 3, 2011 Yeah people will still watch the circus since it's on at a time when people are bored/relaxing and have the TV switched on anyway. It's also like watching an exhibition match where you don't really care which team wins. It's not like watching India-Aus at the WC where there is tension and real passion.

Those TV serials should makers should be executed in broad daylight.

Ram Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 We have two VERY important series coming up, against the Windies and England. Generally, when a team wins the world, they go from strength to strength, beating everyone and everything in their way for a while. But fitness concerns could be our biggest stumbling block to this. Reports are already out that Sehwag needs shoulder surgery. Will he do it now or will he postpone it till after the IPL? Most shoulder surgeries take at least 3 months to heal. If he does it now, he may miss both the IPL and the Windies, but there's an outside chance of him being fit for the England tour.
Sooda Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 ^ After the IPL I heard a commie say... I dont think he will play a big part in the WI if at all
Lord Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Sehwag should get his surgery done now,we need him for England tour
ganeshran Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 I think we should send a second string side to the WI. This would help in the transition and also give the players some much needed rest. And no more IPL parties :hitler: :hitler:
apuk79 Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Dhoni says too much cricket One of the most important points MS said in his post match press conference was that there is too much cricket and India will need a large pool of players. This is so true. The schedule is complete madness to have IPL 5 days AFTER the final then a full tour of West Indies then full tour of England. Quality of cricket is more important that quantity definitely. Players will get injured burn out careers end sooner. India needs a pool of 20-25 players to cope with this kind of schedule for sure. Hope all the international boards sort out this madness.
pinkfreud Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 The schedule is absolutely pathetic and will be a total anticlimax if we fail to keep up our current form after becoming world champs. Doing so will be next to impossible. I fear that most of our guys will suffer from burnouts and injuries throughout the year.
ganeshran Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 WI tour ko ban karo nahi toh IPL ko chotta karo :protest:
rajmarie Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 IPL after 5 day of WC final..then WI tour withn week...& then after WI...to Eng within a week. WTF. BCCI scheduling team really & royally screwed it up. Hoping BCCI rest the seniors that play Test & ODI for India...eg..Dhoni, Zaheer, Sachin, Harbhajan, Sehwag & Gambhir.
Karan114 Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 This is so true. The schedule is complete madness to have IPL 5 days AFTER the final then a full tour of West Indies then full tour of England. The WI and England tours are perfectly fine, we haven't toured WI in five years and England in four. Anything over five years touring a major team is too big a gap. The problem is this darned IPL which eats up two precious months in which the players could be recuperating. Pre-IPL, the players would have gotten a few weeks off, then the WI tour, then a few weeks off then the England tour. But because this circus takes up two months, real cricket is sandwiched into a ridiculously small time period. We can't have both things - we can either try to further our domination at international level or we can have the IPL. The BCCI has already made that choice.
ganeshran Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 ^^ I think all seniors should rest for windies tour. Doesnt matter even if we lose. they need the rest or some might get injured :((

pinkfreud Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 If we lose WI tour we lose no.1 rankings. That is going to happen at some point this year in any case if we continue marshaling our team onto the field like mutant androids. They will simply burn out.
Prakat Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 ^ The scheduling needs to be sorted out now by the players. They're being run like a call center floor.
saneindian Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Hopefully the seniors are rested for the WI ODIs and t20s. Sachin, Zak, MSD, Bhajji all should be rested from the 1st part of the Windies tour.
ganeshran Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 If we lose WI tour we lose no.1 rankings. Dont care. Team should not be run like a sweatshop. they will burn out and suffer some major injuries.
