zen Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 The last 4 years have been great for Indian cricket. The fans who have been following team Ind in this period have been very lucky. This is definately the golden period of Indian cricket. To summerize: 2007 - T20 (mini) WC 2010 - #1 rank in tests 2011 - ODI WC In b/w all these, we managed to draw series in SA and SL. Even won the CB series in Australia, Asia cup, etc (from the top of my head) and now suddenly as a fan I find there is nothing much to look forward to as far as achiving is concerned, except may be a good test series in Australia! May be I can retire slowly as an huge Indian cricket fan and follow only the major tourneys/series. I don't even feel like posting or reading much on cricket (except may be having a good laugh on our neighbors ). How many of you feel this way?
vvvslaxman Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Now you know what Australians went through for 10 years :hysterical:
zaheer Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 a test series win against the (Ashes winning) Poms and thereby bringing them down back to Earth!! B->
Cricket Tragic Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 The last 4 years have been great for Indian cricket. The fans who have been following team Ind in this period have been very lucky. I don't even feel like posting or reading much on cricket (except may be having a good laugh on our neighbors :P ). How many of you feel this way? Please look at my sig. I still think that there is a lot to achieve. We've got a series in Australia this year where there is a realistic chance of winning. That would be huge. I'm also really looking forward to the series in England. Yes, we won in 2007 but England is a better team right now. That might actually be the series of the year. The series in the WI won't be as good but it will be an opportunity to win a series abroad, which is always welcome. With the WC in the bag, I'm really looking forward to the next phase. I hope that the team can raise the bar. Luckily, we have a lot of good cricket coming up.
Prakat Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Now you know what Australians went through for 10 years :hysterical: :cantstop::cantstop: At one point it looked like the only ones that could give them a good hard match was their A team.
glogirl Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 a test series win against australia in australia. plus a test series win vs SA at their home. even after the WC we r still not no. 1 have to achieve all this. more than everything more and more overseas series victories.
vvvslaxman Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 My dream is always to white wash teams. Absolutely decimation, domination like Aussies and Windies in 1980s.
Sachin=GOD Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 IPL is coming our way in less than 100 hours This :adore: :adore: Now that we've had some outstanding cricket in the last few months - India-SA series & then the WC, its time for some entertainment and bollywood filled tamasha.
Zelig Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Bjorn Borg says hi. PS: I don't mark out for Federer. Infact, I hate him :beee:
kabira Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Show must gone on. We can't be satisfied. This is just beginning. We need to build strong bench strength, maintain #1 ranking as much as possible.
gult Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 We've lot to achieve compared to the Waugh's invincibles. Our cricketers should not compare with the neighbors and be satisfied with the achievements.
zen Posted April 4, 2011 Author Posted April 4, 2011 This is from a fan's PoV not team's .... It's taken that team would be playing to maintain its #1 position and even improve further :winky: As for IPL, This year I might not follow it as much as I would have. May be next :P
Cricket Tragic Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Even from the PoV of the fan, there is some great cricket coming up. Tours to England and Australia the same year. That's brilliant!
