punjabi_khota Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Well I do understand that BD has been disappointing but when you look at the general populace of the two countries, at least the first perception is that BD public in general is WAY MORE cricket crazy than IRELAND. My memory may be failing me, but compare a India Vs BD ODI game in BD with a India vs Ireland game in ireland, and its clear that BD is where cricket is destined to grow at a much higher rate in the future.
Params7 Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Well I do understand that BD has been disappointing but when you look at the general populace of the two countries' date=' at least the first perception is that BD public in general is WAY MORE cricket crazy than IRELAND. My memory may be failing me, but compare a India Vs BD ODI game in BD with a India vs Ireland game in ireland, and its clear that BD is where cricket is destined to grow at a much higher rate in the future.[/quote'] That's still no excuse to show them extra favors. Cricket is only second popular sport in South Africa, New Zealand and maybe in top 4 in England and baseball>cricket is the state of popularity right now in the Carribean. So should all cricket developments be only focused in South Asia now? That makes no sense. Irish cricketer's have shown more enthusiasm and equal if not greater skill than Bangladesh cricketers. One of the Irish holds a freakin' World Cup record. Why wasn't any Bangladeshi able to do this given how cricket crazy it is? Its hurting to see ODI cricket get shot to death in Ireland and Netherlands when they've shown ODI cricket can be big there if given more focus.
Zap_Brannigan Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 BD is not guaranteed a spot in the 2015 WC because they are a good ODI side (if this was true then Ireland would be in instead of Zim) but because they are a test playing nation. Today, they were just showing that they are "deserving" off their test status.
ravishingravi Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Dont throw them out but do not guarantee their place
vvvslaxman Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Already Tamim iqbal out.. then bangladesh umpire gave not out to Imrul when the ball takes a huge edge :cantstop: This is highschool stuff once again.
ravishingravi Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 I think Irish might take ICC to court. Good on them
ganeshran Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Target is 229.. I think Aus will make it in 35 overs
Stuge Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Target is 229.. I think Aus will make it in 35 overs Australia showing them where they are suppose to :)
akshayxyz Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Looks like the match wont go beyond 30 overs, if Watson stays.
ganeshran Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Target is 229.. I think Aus will make it in 35 overs I was wrong. Watto finished it off in 26 overs.
sarcastic Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Yes, this team BanglaDesh deserves to be in WC 2015 automatically and Ireland does not as they have lost a match vs BD in their first WC encounter in 2011.
cricketfan2010 Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Yes. Bangladesh deserve place in wc.. :hysterical:
cricketfan2010 Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Its Bangladesh that is mocking cricket. The most pathetic test nation right now imo' date=' at least Zim try to win their games. Complete disgrace for Ireland.[/quote'] There should be a parallel league of minnows like bangladesh, Pakistan, Windies, Zimbabwe..
akshayxyz Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Windies still have good players, fighters. Leave everything else same - replace Bangladesh with Ireland.
akshayxyz Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 On neutral venues, even Canada would be better than Bangladesh.
Stuge Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Somebody please strip BD test status .They seriously don't deserve it . Even though I have been supporting BD cricket ,but this is just too sick. They need bit of electric shock for taking things for granted .
Prakat Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Cricinfo commentary: "Abdur Razzak to Watson, 1 run, full ball on middle stump, Watson is magnanimous and takes a single by driving to long-on" :haha:
