According to Polish website Telepolis, Apple has issued a request for the cancellation of the online food storeÃÔ trademark rights from PolandÃÔ Patent Office. The reason for AppleÃÔ discontent is that A.plÃÔ brand and its sister companyÃÔ name logo (fresh24.pl) create a likelihood of confusion and may use AppleÃÔ fame to its advantage. Naturally, A.pl is standing to defend its trademark and according to the report, the legal battle may take as long as two or three years. WeÃÃl continue to follow the case, but, as Thenextweb points out, its certain that whoever wins the case, there will be appeals from both sides to the Regional Administrative Court in Warsaw. Apple to then sue mankind and demand monetary compensation for using gravity without permission to stay on earth. 3. Apple to sue prophet Adam for eating their logo even though it was expressly "forbidden". Apple will ask his surviving family (man kind) for compensation. 4. Apple to sue Greek Goddess Iounne for offering apples to Gods for eternal youthfulness. Apple will then get a patent on youthfulness and will sue all those using youthfulness without paying Apple.

Holding patents to protect against patent-trolls is different than suing people for rectangles and quarter-circles.

Clarke Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Samsung suffered a major defeat in a patent lawsuit with Apple last month. It was ordered to pay Apple $1 billion in damages, when jury found it copying Cupertino-based company's products. While Apple's current CEO Tim Cook was pretty pleased with it, company co-founder Steve Wozniak is not. It was the crusade of other Apple founder Steve Jobs that he wanted to wage a thermonuclear war on Android. He famously complained that he felt Google had copied Apple's iPhone and vowed to destroy Android. Part for the same war, Apple is suing almost all the major Android manufacturers for infringing its design and software patents. Apart from the decision against Samsung, it has not got any other major victories around the globe. While Jobs was fine with the idea of crushing the patent infringers, Wozniak thinks otherwise. "I hate it," Wozniak told Bloomberg when asked about the patent fights between Apple and Samsung. He is even sure that the $1 billion decision of California court will be rolled back in appeal. "I don't think the decision of California will hold. And I don't agree with it -- very small things I don't really call that innovative. "I wish everybody would just agree to exchange all the patents and everybody can build the best forms they want to use everybody's technologies," he added. While, Woz's wishes might come true in a utopian world, it is highly unlikely that it will happen in our world. However, we did hear about the reports of Tim Cook talking to Google CEO Larry Page to get to a solution for the patent disputes, but nothing is official till now. Apple, which is the world's most-valuable company right now, was founded by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak in 1976 in a California garage.
