Raghav_12 Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Both "The Balls of the IPL" were bowled by Tams - Watson b Balaji Uthappa b Ashwin :csk: Goes on to show that how bad bowling standards are in IPL..:haha: Even Ray Jennnings made a similar statement.. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/sports/cricket/ipl-2011/news/Our-bowling-standard-hasnt-been-that-good-Jennings/articleshow/8086629.cms
BeautifulGame Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 He should only be selected for T20s .=where he will be great coming at 6 or 7 maybe as a alternative to Yusuf . He should be nowhere near ODI teams unless he does something in ODI domestic trophies or Ranji Trophy . Same for the likes of valthathy .
desi pride 1234 Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 i had lot of hope from this fellow. but he let down himself and fans like me. he has tremenderous power to clear any ground, but i dont know why tries all the cute shots which is highly risky. all he has to do is play with a straight bat.:haha:
sarcastic Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 UTHAPPA answering all his critics in a proper way!!!!!!!:yay: All the bashers who posted in the thread please be ready to eat humble pies!!!!:--D:finger:
The Outsider Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 UTHAPPA answering all his critics in a proper way!!!!!!!:yay: All the bashers who posted in the thread please be ready to eat humble pies!!!!:--D:finger: Flathappa. :woot:
sarcastic Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Flathappa. :woot: He already hit TWO massive sixers of R Ashwin.. taking his revenge for the DUCK dismissal> I see he is out now but not before doing his duty scoring a quick 31 (pretty good performance in T20 game)!!!!
The Outsider Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 I see he is out now but not before doing his duty scoring a quick 31 (pretty good performance in T20 game)!!!! That's pretty much his aukaad - a quick 31.
VRV Singh Posted April 27, 2011 Author Posted April 27, 2011 Some answer to the critics. The guy went all guns blazing against the carrom ball, look what happened :giggle: Very limited player..
vvvslaxman Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Some answer to the critics. The guy went all guns blazing against the carrom ball, look what happened :giggle: Very limited player.. He also displayed a poor temperament there. He just didn't play the ball instead the bowler. It was as if he was carrying some vengence from the last match and trying to go after every ball from Ashwin instead of picking the right ball. Sure you can go after every ball if you have array of strokes at your repertoire like Sachin.
VRV Singh Posted April 27, 2011 Author Posted April 27, 2011 Yep, comfortably out-thought. All brawn no brains. Don't see why we need that vacancy filled in team India.
rajmarie Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Uttappa disappointed today. He had the chance to get a big score...but some mindless batting & he threw his wicket away. Looks like more domestic season is what he will get.
BERGKAMP Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Also needs to shed a few pounds and lose the beer gut.
CoverDrive Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 he can learn from UV at the other end who stayed till the very end and got as much as possible - even though it was not enough.
coffee_rules Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Bah..Northies' flamefest orgy thread..:finger:
Ultimate_Game Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Glad to give it to you straight. Yes, on current form I would take Valthaty over Uthappa for the WI series. I'd love to know more about Uthappa's consistency though. So you would have a guy like Valthaty who scored in a couple of IPL games over Uthappa and that too due to "consistency"? And I guess Valthaty would keep wkts as well since Uthappa is a WK batsman and would tour as a wk.
sarcastic Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Flathappa!:hysterical: Had he come earlier than he did, you would have seen a glimpse of what Uthappa is capable of!!!!!! Pune's team management sucks big time :(( Hope he gets more fair opportunities in the future:pray:
rajmarie Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Dont know why PW dont send him at No3 or even as an opener. They like Yuvraj & Uttappa to come to bat after 10 overs. That is acceptable when by 10 overs ur team is abt 90 something.
fineleg Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 The new ROBIN UTHAPPA here! in the video! 5d6SazTcl-Q
Rana Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Has some quality strokes in his bag. Just needs consistency.
