The Outsider Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Their movies are renowned for the sheer volume of gore in them. I can vouch for that - some of the Japanese movies (reputed ones) I've watched have made me skip scenes just to get away from their explicit portrayal of gore, blood, and pain.
EnterTheVoid Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Hmmm, they're building something than can translate human movements into mechanical movements. Forget the part about transmitting a kiss but from an engineering perspective, this thing has a lot of potential if used properly. The way they manage to incorporate all that sensors and software, thats actually pretty damn impressive. Seems like they're building a prototype for the initial Proof of Concept -- i.e., they want something tangible they can work with/do their experiments on so that they don't do their research on unsubstantiated promises. They need to change their direction tho. Transmitting kisses is just dumb. They should get blow up dolls, they're cheaper and probably more reliable :hahaha:
The Outsider Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 ^ Planning to buy a sex doll with kissing abilities? :winky:
EnterTheVoid Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 ^ Planning to buy a sex doll with kissing abilities? :winky: Yea but not a blow up doll with this kissing technology tho. Don't know where you'd put that big ass motor
EnterTheVoid Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Seriously, this technology can be used properly if they know how to. Imagine someone who lost their arms/legs in a car accident and can use their feelings to control bionic arms and legs to do rudimentary things the rest of us take for granted. Initial prototypes don't do justice to what can be accomplished. But thats the whole point. They tinker, change, modify the design with each improvement until they hit something that can be of practical use and can help people.
asterix Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 I think it's the first prototype..They might add bit of soft rubber and suction cups to give the "natural feeling"..
Mariyam Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Chinese straw technology :hysterical: Can you come up with something better inside 5 seconds? :whack:
Zelig Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 I can vouch for that - some of the Japanese movies (reputed ones) I've watched have made me skip scenes just to get away from their explicit portrayal of gore' date=' blood, and pain.[/quote'] Takeshi Kitano n Takeshi Miike :ohyeah:
DomainK Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Can you come up with something better inside 5 seconds? :whack: Guess not. That was actually smart.
Prakat Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Takeshi Kitano n Takeshi Miike :ohyeah: Kitano is more brooding and stylized violence, as seen in Hana-bi and Sonatine and is capable of deviating from his norm (Kikujiro and Zatoichi come to mind) while Miike is way out on the left-field and inspired people like Eli Roth to make Hostel.
Prakat Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 You must check out Mizoguchi, Ozu and Kurosawa (if you haven't already) though. Completely different era and sensibilities.
EnterTheVoid Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Has anybody here seen the movie "Guinea Pig: Tears of Flesh and Blood" or something to that effect? That is the most ****ed up thing ever made. Story goes Charlie Sheen thought he movie was a real life snuff film and called the FBI. It was that sick.
Zelig Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Kitano is more brooding and stylized violence' date=' as seen in Hana-bi and Sonatine and is capable of deviating from his norm (Kikujiro and Zatoichi come to mind) while Miike is way out on the left-field and inspired people like Eli Roth to make Hostel.[/quote'] I am a big fan of both. Miike's Ichi the Killer is a very stylish action movie if you can put up with the gore et al. His Audtion, One Missed Call, 13 assassins are good too.
asterix Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Lot's of show off going on which has nothing to do with the original topic.. :headshake:
Zelig Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Is there a similar machine type one for the real stuffz :hmmm:
bhanu Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Wow good machine now satyam and rana can make out after trolling on icf all day :hehe:
Shehezaada Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 ^ Planning to buy a sex doll with kissing abilities? :winky: what would be awesome is that he finds out that the doll's name is asifa and is in fact a pakistani!
Vijay.Sharma Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Just when you think the Japanese couldn’t get any crazier, they come up with this.. I am sorry, but is something really wrong with the Japanese people? They come up with some of the world’s weirdest contraptions. Their movies are renowned for the sheer volume of gore in them. Their ads sometimes range from the mildly spooky to downright scary. Have you seen their reality game shows? People get hurt like crazy in ‘em and people just stand around and laugh.:dontknow: Their pranks could literally scare the you to death (no jokes, their version of a practical joke is to explode a mini-bomb in someone’s living room….:omg:)The worst is their gaming industry...I am being judgmental here but seriously what kinda society enjoys playing war games like Rapelay. Bloody sadistic bastrards. I was really disturbed for a few days when I first read about it on a news article that Amazon would not sell it because they felt it was unethical to encourage people to play such games.
