People used to say same rubbish about Gower, its just his batting style not any lack of desire/commitment[/quote'] KT, I know you are a fan of Rohit but if you think his poor attitude had nothing to do with his failures in international cricket so far, then it's wrong. The FC runs that he scored this season helped him go to SA for the ODIs where he failed miserably and part of the problem again was poor shot selection. On that SA tour, he still looked fat and lazy on the field. Even in the susequent domestic List A games that he played for Mumbai and then West Zone, he was still fat and looked disinterested. With the likes of Rahane, Manoj Tiwary, Mukund etc lurking around, the WI tour could in fact be a make or break tour for Rohit. Yes, he goes back to FC cricket and scoes runs but after his international comeback, he fails to grab the chances. ANother failure in a series and he may find himself out of favour for sometime. As I said, the WC ommission looks to have made him realise what he missed out and perhaps that has made him work harder at his game. That he looks fitter and is keen to do well again is what I am refering to when I say "hunger and desire to excel".

saneindian Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Rohit's 1st class record in the last 3 seasons 2008-09 8 matches, 881 runs@80 with 4 100s 2009-10 8 matches, 718 runs@80 with 3 100s 2010-11 7 matches, 768 runs@96 with 2 100s So, everytime he has lost his spot in the Indian team, he has gone back to first class cricket and piled on the runs. But has struggled to carry that form into international cricket and become consistent. High time he corrected the issue and grabbed his opportunities. Else, very soon he may become a domestic bully like many ranji stalwarts.

If raina can get 5 test matches than so should someone like Sharma. Rohit first class record tells me theirs nothing wrong with his attitude. He just doesn't get ODIs.

Somebody at that age should be near peak fitness, not rolling around with a beer belly. To me it shows the mentality of the player - thinks he's arrived already. Not a good sign.
