Dayman Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Rayudu should be the second keeper. From what Ive seen with MI, he's good enough with the gloves, and he's a far better batsman than Saha and Parthiv.
vvvslaxman Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Rayudu should be the second keeper. From what Ive seen with MI' date= he's good enough with the gloves, and he's a far better batsman than Saha and Parthiv.

Dayman Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Seems like you've not seen much :winky: Im talking about just his wicketkeeping. Not his batting (Ive seen him bat before the IPL). Id say the IPL is good enough to see that his wicketkeeping is satisfactory.
rkt.india Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 I think its the time for Rahane and Kohli if Pujara is injured
Zap_Brannigan Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Both Rahane and Mukund has to be there along with Murali vijay. No need to select parthiv patel when there are others deserving chances with the national team.
saneindian Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Whatever no stop gap openers please. Pick the specialists. Making Badri or Kohli or Pujara open will be a step in the wrong direction. Assuming Sehwag and Gauti are not avaialable, my choices would be Openers: Vijay, Mukund (rahane has been batting at number 3 for the entire season and even on India A tour Dhawan and Mukund have been our openers, so i would go with Mukund) Middle Order- Dravid, Sachinn VVS, Pujara, Kohli Keeper- MSD, Saha Spinners- Bhajji, Ojha, Mishra Pacers- Zaheer, Ishant, Sreesanth, Munaf
TheWall Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Srikanth is slowly turning Indian team into TN Ranji Team...
saneindian Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Srikanth is slowly turning Indian team into TN Ranji Team... Exactly how many TN players played for India the last time we played an international match? Go, do the counting and then talk.
vishalvirsingh Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 I totally agree MUNAF is way behind ishant sreesanth ZAK when tests are concerned I wud select VArun ahead of Umesh and jaydev unadket as 4th stand bye pacer to groom him Among batsmen kohli, pujara, badri are ahead of yuvi and raina as raina and UV are suspect against bouncers where as kohli pujara and Badri sEem to know how to take singles against bouncers....if v play UV and raina in tests its a gamble. V may hit windies hard or v can get hit hard as well as both these guys still do not know how to play good bouncers
Sooda Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Yeah' date=' fair point. VJ got that hundred in Bangalore against Australia and has been the reserve opener. I won't really complain if he is picked since it is expected. It's just that I don't rate him. [b']I can't see him as a long-term option, especially overseas. Yes, I think so too. Not sure how adept hed be against the moving ball, and it has been pointed here before that his back foot play is limited. However just to be fair and consistent he deserves a chance to fail or succeed...
yoda Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Srikanth is slowly turning Indian team into TN Ranji Team... Yes, at the slow rate, he will accomplish that by the year 2030. :giggle:
ch1234 Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Have seen Mukund bats.. Wonder whether eh can be successful for outside conditions.. Take Kohli at any cost...
rkt.india Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Mukund is raw and not ready for tests yet...he is worse than Raina against short balls and even dances on Pankaj Singh 130 K short balls.
King Tendulkar Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Im talking about just his wicketkeeping. Not his batting (Ive seen him bat before the IPL). Id say the IPL is good enough to see that his wicketkeeping is satisfactory. :hysterical:

You have obviously forgotten the thrashing he gave to RPS, Pankaj and Umesh Yadav in the Duleep Trophy semi final. Or his success with India A against English Lions bowlers Woakes, Mahmood and Plunkett in 2010 in England.

He was so uncomfortable against RP and Pankaj. On the basis of same match, I said all this. I have not seen him much, but what I saw of him in that match. Kemar Roach will eat him with bouncers and short pitch bowling. He plays very eadgy and has very loose technique. I could see him only for first 13 overs and got the clue about his technique that is pretty similar to Phillip Hughes and I would say he is a poor version of Phillip Hughes.
