Cricket Tragic Posted May 27, 2011 Author Posted May 27, 2011 Rahul Dravid has to step up big time. He cannot have one good innings followed by 3 or 4 ordinary innings. I never worried about playing understrength side in ODIs. In Tests i always feel you should send the best side regardless of the opposition. Nah, Dravid has sucked only against good attacks in recent years. He has still got runs against NZ, Bang, SL (in India only) etc. WI bowling attack is of a similar standard. We need him to fire in England. I agree that the best team should always be picked for tests.

As an Indian and cricket fan, I am saddened by the developments. And I dont blame the board. I dont buy that the WC winning team can be forced to play the IPL
Sir_Afridi Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 I think Zaheer deserve rest more than Sachin. India have enough batting resources if Sachin misses the UK series but without Zaheer in UN, chances of victory goes down considerably.

With him missing the series, I do not know how he is going to be picked for the England Tests. Basically he has blown perhaps the final chance to revive his test career. A lung infection would at most get cured in 2-3 weeks and he should be fit by the time tests start in WI. Another surprising ommission is Pujara. I hope thats due to his injury and not for the lack of runs on the SA tour. Great to see Kohli, Mukund in the team. Kohli should now get 3 tests at number 4 or 6 and would have most certainly cemented hs spot in the side by this tour.
