suraj Posted July 7, 2011 Posted July 7, 2011 1 LAKHsYA : Frankly speaking, it is probably greatest war movie ever been made in india but still it was big flop in box office. 2 Swades: It has to be one of the finest movie of SRK.Amazing music but still it was flop. 3 The legend of bhagat singh : Finest movie ever made on bhagat singh. 4 Ek haseena thi : one of the finest act by an indian actress 5 Shaurya : It was remake of "A few good man " soo possibly deserved much appriciation. Great list!! I agree (Swades borderline but others truly good but underrated movies)
suraj Posted July 7, 2011 Posted July 7, 2011 Ek Chaalis ki Last Local-Awesome Thriller in the Guy Ritchie/Tarantino mould RGV'S Bhooth-One of the better Bollywood Horror Flicks Gangajal Bluffmaster-I know it was a copy of a couple of Hollywood films but still it was slickly made film Being Cyrus Black Friday-I know it is highly rated but is often overlooked due to the glossy formula films when we talk about bollywood Gandhi My Father-very underrated performance by Akshaye Khanna Agree with last 2 only wholeheartedly Being cyrus is close, Gangajal good but not underrated Bluffmaster- please don't include in this list
suraj Posted July 7, 2011 Posted July 7, 2011 Maqbool starring Pankaj Kapoor, Irfan Khan,Muasumeh Makhija and Tabu also deserves a shout. Generally I avoid Irfan Khan movies. He looks, talks and acts like a psychopath even when the role doesn't demand it. Over does it, and it gets irritating. But he's acted very well in this movie. Definition of underrated is something that should have been rated/admired/ appreciated more than it ended up getting How the heck is Maqbool underrated- critics rave about it all the time; financially budget was low and it met the budget so what is so underrated about it- seems like you are just rattling off good movies now but OP asked for underrated ones

Here you can have a look of the top 10 grossing movies in that year. If a movie doesn't gross as much, isn't it an indication of it being underrated/under valued/ under appreciated by the people in general? Another underrated movie that I liked: Lajja *ing Manisha Koirala, Madhuri Dixit, Mahima Chaudhary
