I dont follow Apple or Oranges much but what is this Lion OS and what features has it got. It has a limited usecase in dashboard type applications for data analysis, but not really suitable for conventional software. I think Microsoft's strategy with Windows 8 is really to unify tablet and PC OS under a single brand, but not necessarily to try and force the same usage patterns on both devices.

In case of desktop PCs if they expect people to use touch screen then the people at Microsoft are foolish and haven't understood their customers' needs even now.

The Outsider Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Microsoft's strategy is to bring into effect a rapid transition from earlier Windows versions to version 8 in the corporate landscape given the fact that most high profile individuals in a company with a Windows 8 software on their phone would want the same on their PCs. Whether it works or not in an era of increasing cloud computing is an open question, but their strategy is quite solid for a change.
