Looks like another gun slinger like S Tiwary, Both Dhawan and Tiwary bat like they are chopping trees down. Looks like KT has a pro/anti thread for every player and bumps up the pertinent one according to the player's recent performance. Why does this clown open threads in the first place? Why does he open threads? Because King "dsr" Tendulkar is the quintessential village bumpkin idiot of ICF. Never fails to provide entertainment with his threads :hysterical:
youngindia Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 to be honest, dhawan was testing anyone's patience.(the "patience" on ICF which is mostly restricted to backing early developers like kohli or pujara only and casting doubt on everyone else is not the standard I have in mind :haha:). he seemed to be taking forever to progress further. even a few years ago, he didn't seem ready to be a "matchwinner" even in IPL. it was easy to think he was an incorrigible person on way to underachievement because he was either not intelligent enough or he could not work enough.he started firing a bit after 2011 now he has expanded his game beautifully this season and selectors will find it difficult to ignore him till the day he retires. then there are those who turn to be underachieving forever(uthappa is case in point).there are some who figure out things after years of frustration.there are people who can change even at 30.
youngindia Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 The players of the 2004 wc karthik,dhawan,rayudu,uthappa have all struggled to establish themselves when they could have progressed maybe earlier. players like muzumdar or sriram didn't have the brilliance required for internationals .they cud be ruled out. in 2002, bisla was marked the "best prospect" by vengsarkar. he does not like playing international. but prospects post the 2004 u19 generation are of a different mettle. They generally have better talent and more serious prospects for internationals.kohli's and unmukt's batch have even more depth. recently foreign coaches are nowadays stunned by the quality of our juniors like Samson whereas I still remember the 2002 SA coach dismiss the 2002 u 19 batch as not much of a threat. if you mock at jadeja or manan vohra the same way you did chopra or mongia, you are asking for egg on your face. things have changed as far as batting is concerned. batting prospects have to be treated with more respect and seriousness.

Not many here at ICF are as impartial as him. He also admits if he is proven wrong. We need more people with such honest opinions.

LOL.......you just defined KT's bandwagon jumping as him being impartial.......:hysterical::hysterical:.......I remember my uncle and myself watching Dhawan play for the u-19s and the both of us were very impressed.......his biggest hurdle was always his inability to perform at the right moment.....he has overcome this I think......another guy my uncle and myself predicted for greatness was Kieran Powell...... Our record isn't that good though as we thought Manish Pandey would be in the squad by 2013......

I am not saying that guys like Rahane don't deserve, just that Dhawan never got the chance which he deserved when he was in TOP FORM. Now he has gotten the chance, so it's fair he get a run here. I don't know how much he will score today, but the guy is good enough to be in Indian national side. Screw you guys who talk about technique or he doesn't look international class. You guys don't know how to actually bat I guess. an old post, but glad to have found it. You can call me pro delhi supporter or whatever, but I back the right guns. Have always run backed people who I think are reallly really good, and Dhawan has shown that he is.

Many players have brilliant debuts only to fizz out later He actually got out for a golden duck on debut....performed unspectacularily in West Indies in 2011......this his third comeback of sorts.....I think India have found an opener in him for the next five years.....
