daryl1985 Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 He bowled badly but he, PK and even Sreesanth bowled their hearts out yesterday, even if IS and Sree lost it late on. I feel Sree was underbowled in the early session as he looked the most dangerous bowler while PK was taken off far too early with the 2nd new ball when he was swinging it all over the place.

Cut the lad some slack[/quote'] Am really mystified that his effectiveness dipped precipitously after the WI tour. He was firing on all cylinders just a few weeks ago. Does he function well only on bouncy pitches, and cannot adjust to these conditions? I am baffled.
punjabi_khota Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Sharma has bowled decently ..he can't be expected to spearhead the attack given his lack of experience, but he did bowl well in 2nd test, and even the 2nd innings of first test.
Bumper Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Anderson was not that effective in the first innings. Infact, Ganguly referred to him a 2nd inns bowler in this series. But he does not look bad because at any point in time, two of the English bowlers are bowling well & picking wickets. Problem for us is that all our bowlers suck at the same time. Or may be the English batsmen have better technique in these conditions than our Indian counter parts.

Unless he slows down considerably and becomes yet another addition to our illustrious trundler club!

Trichromatic Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Even though he has played over 36 tests, he still looks like an inexperienced new bowler. 36 tests are a lot. Maybe it will take him 3-4 years more and after 60 tests or so, he will improve enough to become a good bowler for all conditions. It's kinda sad that even after playing so many matches, he looks ineffective. His abilities are limited. He has a long way to go before becoming a good bowler.

Time and time again we see flashes of brilliance in him , but inconsistency is a big problem and will be till he gets some more experience. Today mishra will bowl lots of overs so Ishant can get good time to be fresh and produce some good spells.

Sooda Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 I Ishant started test crivcket a bit too early. A few FC seasons might have allowed him to learn his strengths and weaknesses before playing Internationals.
