The Outsider Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 1. Kapil in the 80s as a bowler. Here are some stats to help : http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?class=1;filter=advanced;orderby=bowling_average;qualmin1=50;qualval1=wickets;spanmax2=31+Dec+1989;spanmin2=01+Jan+1980;spanval2=span;team=6;template=results;type=bowling 2. The Outsider Posted June 29, 2011 Author Posted June 29, 2011 this thread has HUGE potential Yeah, for fan boys to show new levels of stupidity or evade voting at all as it will shatter the cocoon of 'OMG, Tendulkar was a one man army in the 90s' if they vote honestly.
Mariyam Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 I didn't understand the question. Or the links. :((
Chandan Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Karsan Ghavari? Did he not take his wickets bowling along with Kapil? Was he senior to Kapil? How about Madan Lal? He couldn't take even 61 wickets?
Sachin=GOD Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Yeah' date=' [b']for fan boys to show new levels of stupidity or evade voting at all as it will shatter the cocoon of 'OMG, Tendulkar was a one man army in the 90s' if they vote honestly. or for haters to spout more venom.
ganeshran Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 I didnt read the question properly and voted for the wrong option Please change my vote to Kapil in the 80s. kthanxbai
Laaloo Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Damn voted for the wrong option. Please change my vote to Kapil
ganeshran Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 This vote is rigged by Outy by providing confusing options :protest: He knows that most Indians vote for Sachin the minute they see his name in any poll
vvvslaxman Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 This reminds me of one of the joke i read from a old Tamil magazine After West Indies toured India in 1983 right after world cup. They decimated us. By the time 5th tets got over there were lot of jokes about this series. One of the cartoon joke was Kapil dev asking umpire "Am i allowed to bowl from both ends" .
maniac Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 The question is vague....Did Kapil have bowler's support -no,Did he have a fine batting support ...yes Sachin,Did he make a difference with the bat to make up for ordinary batsmen and ordinary bowlers ...yes Verdict:Sachin

Lets have the top 10 bowlers of the 80s. Shastri Maninder Doshi Shivlal Yadav Arshad Ayub Chetan Sharma Hirwani Madan Lal Binny Shivramakrishnan Please dont forget also rans of Gopal Sharma, Balwinder Sandhu, Sanjeev Sharma and Salil Ankola. A proverbial who's-who of Indian cricket
kabira Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Definately KapilDev, no two ways about it. During his time, Jab chhota bachha peda hota tha, to ma kehti thi, batsman yanha spinner banna...LOL... he had hardly any quality support. He is hte reason we have more than decent pace bowlers coming out of India. Btw I think you should also seperate Home and Away records. At home in 90s we always had batting , but we succumbed playing away. Kambli Bambli's average will go down.

You suggest Kapil didnt have much of support act and then ulta vote kar dete ho?? Ekdam Baburao types
spectre Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Damn, even I voted incorrectly. The Sachin 'One man army' is a massively overrated BS. Indian team was sucking in 90s even with or without Sachin.
kabira Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Kya yaar Kabira tum bhi. You suggest Kapil didnt have much of support act and then ulta vote kar dete ho?? Ekdam Baburao types by mistake I did that, don't know how to reverse it.

Lurker Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 by mistake I did that' date=' don't know how to reverse it.[/quote'] Sab Modi ka kamaal hai..Deemag kharaab kar diya GUjju logon ka :roti:
