msb1991 Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Unadkat is a good bowler with left arm advantage and has a good head on his shoulders. he needs to bulk up a bit nd good 1-2 fc seasons. The action needs refining too, if he is to be consistent. He lacks a certain control at release that is common to all top quality seam bowlers.
msb1991 Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Wonly 2 wickets in the match for Aaron Marshall. :hmmm: :hehe: It is not reasonable to expect him to do well. His FC record is poor. I hope he can learn from the experience of bowling to some good batsmen in foreign conditions.
Sooda Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 69 knocks and no centuries in List A cricket suggests he may be one slightly below ODI standard. O'Rly, didnt know that. Not a great List A record indeed.

rkt.india Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 O'Rly' date=' didnt know that. Not a great List A record indeed.[/quote'] I dont think many of you follow domestic, on indian flat beds, most runs are scored by openers in one day, likes of jaffar has huge scores. Manoj bats at 4-5.

Look at the averages. That counts, more than the centuries. He's one of few who can play the short ball well. That's what separates him from the rest of the flat bed bullies.
Jayaram_IND Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Important thing to note though-his averages in ENGLAND LIST A-19 FC-19 So yes good prospect but needs exposure to other conditions.
vishalvirsingh Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Problem with unadket is 122K to 128K speed....his muscles or the lack of it cannot get more than that..its like his physique does not promise him to be an international bowler...and hence I am not for him.
Blue Panther Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Unadkat will never ever be an international bowler. I have a better bowling action and relaease then this starving trundler.
nsareen Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 Unadkat will never ever be an international bowler. I have a better bowling action and relaease then this starving trundler. :haha::haha: . Really!! Then why is it that you are posting here and he is enjoying cricket there in Aus, BCCI's fault. Talent not recognized i guess ?
Chandan Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 Good to see Manoj get some runs' date=' but then Pandey got some runs, so they're nullified :([/quote'] Looks like this series is not serving enough purpose because not a good "emerging" squad was sent. All the three teams have relatively quite an inexperienced squad and smashing those kids doesn't prove much for guys like Tiwari who are veterans at FC levels and are playing since 5 years or more. Pandey is relatively new and can be called an emerging player but not MK Tiwari, or Dhawan or Vinay Kumar. If these players haven't emerged till now, there little chance of doing it now, that too by smashing young young inexperienced kids. Anyway, this is the full scorecard od 2nd 3 day match: Iframe: Open in new window
kabira Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 ^Chandan, doesn't matter if Manoj tiwari has played lot of cricket. Its still alien conditions for him. The other squads from SA and Australia should have talented cricketers. so I don't understand your point.

Only AIS team is inexperienced and you also need to understand, those are not home conditions for Indian team. Previously, Indian team used to be thrashed in foreign conditions easily but not now.
rkt.india Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 We have Dhawan 3-4 ODIs, Manoj Tiwary 3 ODIs, Vinay 3 ODis, S tiwary 2 ODIs, Yadav 3 ODIs...all others are still very inexperienced. Similarly NZ has Flynn test player, Brownline international player, Mackay test player, Broom ODIs, Woodcock ODIs. So there is not much difference in these 2 sides and we defeated them convincingly. FOR SA team. Smuts has played 40 FC matches, Hendricks 49, O'Reilly 14, Abbott 18, Bavuma 27, Behardien 56, Levi 34, Deeb 25, Pienaar 20, Mosehle 21, Shaun von Berg, Mthokozisi Shezi. So, There is not a single newbie like we have in Bhargav Bhatt, Unadkat, Aaron, Maneria, etc with very less FC experience. O'Reilly who has lowest FC games is already 25 years of age.

There is really not too much difference between this India team and say an India A team- alot of the above names would feature for an India A whereas SaneIndian has potsed the Saffie EPT and A teams there are quite different. SA and AIS do not have players with Intl experience for a start. Its making Vinay Kumar look like a high quality bowler. Youre right about the conditions yes and its good experience for these guys in away conditions, but perhaps a few younger players could have gone. Dhawan for egs might end up with a fine run tally, but he was not really too convincing in the ODIs played. Anyway Im not sure what a perfect squad would have been for this tourno, whatever the selectors picked we would have had issues with. Sharda Ugra on Cric mentioned the need for it to be 'A minus'.

They all are A team players. Bowlers like Tyagi, Kulkarni, Pankaj Singh, Deepak Chahar, Pawan Suyal, Abu Nechim, Rahul Shukla can easily complete fast bowlers' quota. Uday Kaul can easily fill in keeper's slot. Rahul Sharma who missed this tour and Chawla can easily fill spinners slot. Sarul Kanwar, Sahil Kukreja, RP Verma, Arun Kartik, Dinesh Kartik, Bhuvnesh Kumar, Srikanth Wagh, Ashok Dinda, Jalaj Saxena, Pinal Shah are some others who can also be considered for any of these squads. SA A also had players who have played international cricket. You can only say AIS is an inexperienced FC team with very few FC games among the players.
