This is just another venue as far as players are concerned and whether they win or lose it is still one victory or one defeat just like at any other venue. Of course players are not going to say it like that and will obviously kiss up in front of the cameras and to the media. Hate all this non sense when all we should care is how do we get out of this Lords Test unscathed.

Having been there its just a crappy smallish stadium with a tiny capacity and no atmosphere. I find football arenas to have more soul and gladitorial instinct. Even the name Lords is so pretentious.

Imagine even if he was even in mid 60s he would have scored 200 plus easily and India would have been in better position. Same with Dhoni he consumed over 100 balls and ended up with only 28 !!!

Again I am not expecting upwards of 80% but around 60% would have immensly helped. Not taking anything away from Dravid's great knock, but it makes difference. Another thing is scoring keeps pressure on the fielding side as well as pressure off batting partner.The best example is that of Vengsarker and Miandad,they would score at healthy rate without Sehwag type hitting...still in an era were 50% SR was acceptable.

Are you saying Vengsarkar was a better test player than Dravid? Dravid's strength is that he doesn't lose concentration for long periods of time. Yes, his SR is a tad slow, but he more than makes up for it by making his innings count by not throwing away his wicket after eating all those balls.
