Beefy is day dreaming and Boycott is demented to think you have 'best possible' bowling attack.
Fontaine Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 The series was always going to be a close one but I had England with the advantage because they're playing at home. I think 1-1 or 2-1 would be the result with a series victory going to either team. It's been a very good series so far with tremendous cricket. The only negative being the constant media crap that has come with England already being declared the best side in the world by most of the English press after the first test. Kind of ironic now that England are suffering the same injury problems with Swann, Trott that India had in the first test. Not so easy to play for both teams.

But India have clearly showed that even without Zaheer they can go toe to toe with anyone in the same conditions. THAT in itself is an achievement. Can the current English team say the same thing if this series was being played in India? Hell no.

England is facing the possibility of a fully functional death star in the final one with Sehwag, Gambhir, Zaheer along with spinning pitches for Bhajji/Raina. Currently England is barely handling the current side which is missing both openers our lead bowler and several out of form players.

Darkknight just because im a realist doesnt mean im some closet pakistani pretending to be english i.e. wobbly. Right now I think its 50/50 and can go either way. I think psychologically India will be fired up next test if everyone is healthy and England will fall fast and hard but lets not call it before its over.

King Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 I thought India will do well in this series. This was going by how they have performed over the last few years overseas. That said I didnt quite think India was going to win hands down. Obviously playing in England does matter, England has had a series against SL and we all know India comes to party fairly late in the series overseas. I think India still has done well in patches and their form will get better over the duration of the series. That said the time is running out, if England gets through this test match unscathed India will have absolutely no chance whatsoever. I don't expect England also to dominate India as yet. There is still plenty left in this test match and won't be surprised if India goes on to win the series from here. Still love the way England fight back, hallmark of a good team. All in all the series is living up to expectations.

But with their usual piss poor preparation and injuries to key members, India would have to do well to win 2-1. By the way, I feel this is the best chance and probably the last for some time to come for India to win a series in England. I dont see noobs like Raina, Kohli, Rohit doing anything significant so early in their careers in overseas conditions. When the big 3 retire, it will be back to India in the 90s for a while. So enjoy it while it lasts, folks.
