The effort comes in the form of fielding from a player that is not even in the playing XI... go Saha. That said Swann isn't a bad bat either :(( I think it's time to get all the subs on the field to inject some effort.

This must be the first time that a Team has scored 500 + runs at Trent Bridge in the 2nd innings. other teams are able to bowl defensive lines but we are not able to do it . In the last 10 years i have not seen the Team look so helpless. The bowlers have been thrashed on some flat wickets here and there but not on a wicket like Trent Bridge.

I guess you hit the nail on the head. They are lacking imagination and there doesn't seem to be any sort of thinking process. There's been no Plan B in this test match in its entirety. India played the first test match well enough though but I suppose they couldn't recover from the onslaught from Broad. It went downhill from there on.

This is the only day of cricket that I've seen in this series so far. Indian players - especially Laxman, Harbhajan and the new guy Mukund have very poor body language. Its as if they want to be anywhere in the world but on that cricket ground. Looks like the side have already capitulated.

It is the inevitability that the lower order batsmen will score big which bugs me. Sure they are decent players, but it's like no. 8, 9, 10 have some freaking aura which gets us every single time. Whenever we have had the chance to get the initiative in a match or even a session it's happened and each time there's been helplessness. Just extremely disappointing. We don't need Mr Rajesh's Cricinfo stats to tell us we struggle to polish off the tail. But giving them the aura of Bradman and Sobers is a new one.

Maybe India underestimated England heavily? England has been bloody good and have pretty much dominated the test series barring couple of session or three at the most. It pains to say SL were a better team than India. SL lost just one test match only owing to one bad session in the first test match otherwise they matched England consistently through out including ODIs.

Indian bowling and tailend batting needs overhaul I think we need to look beyind the current lot and have to get youngsters who can bowl fast and bat a bit. Spinners who can actually talented and not overhyped. Soon the Maharathis will retire and the team has to be built on players who have multi skill sets and smart cricketers..

It is strange , i feel that we were not bothered about the boundaries and were not even trying to stop it or restrict the flow of runs. Why is that ?! Our bowling can't be so poor as to give 2-3 every over. Something has gone seriously wrong with the Team's mindset. unfortunately i don't think anybody will ask the tough questions from this team. they seem to have carelessly given up & this happened before the Tea session yesterday. This has been one of our worst 2nd innings bowling performance since Karachi 2005-06. And that was a Flat Wicket (even though Mohd Asif did manage to run through our batting ).

I think the tail is not too bad, Harbhajan and Zaheer aren't too bad. In the recent years these two have bailed out India a few times. Unfortuantely that hasn't transpired this time around. Dhoni I reckon should contribute, not good enough to score once in a while. Dhoni needs to be a bit more consistent. Otherwise I still think Indian batting is as good as they come. Suresh Raina and Yuvi despite having scored recently are a bit dicey. They can struggle against the short balls. They need a fairly long rope and to expect them to score big consistently is almost unfair. They need time to settle down.
