What's there to discuss? That's the harsh reality but kudos to Raina (a player with limited technique) for already making an impact at test level under adverse conditions with sheer determination

It's a statement which Ganguly had to live with throughout his career. Even though Ganguly was a pretty good with short stuff and has scored lot of runs, but people ignore those moments and starting pointing out the moment you get out to short ball. Raina would have to score lot of runs to mute his critics. Power to RAINA.

raina does have mental strength and fighting spirit. Lara , Steve Waugh(32 hundreds) and Ganguly all had problems with short balls, he will surely be a good no. 5-6 , I hope our selectors don't get carried away by these kind of statements. I think warne got carried away during commentary with M Holding , when Holding was kinda desperately shouting "He(raina) is very uncomfortable against short balls , keep bowling short at him , don't waste your bouncers by giving them much height , just around that Sahara logo , just around that Sahara logo"

Why English or Aussie players inability to play quality spin doesnt exclude them from being test match players ? Can Warne answer this ? :hmmm: Most English players are sitting ducks on turning tracks. They dont deserve to play tests either.

When Ganguly started his career, he used to play pull/hook decently. He was not good at it, but when he expected the short balls sometimes he was able to play it and sometimes he just used to take it on the body. His batting was not affected by it. In other words he could play the short balls safely if needed. But it seems that Raina can't play the shot. He will get chance to bat with lower order batsman more often than others. With this weakness, he would find it very difficult to shield the tail-enders. This is another disadvantage of being no 6 player who can peppered by short ball.
