SachDan Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 oh Vinay Kumar  Truly unbelievable how this trundler finds a place in the team even after so many mediocre performances!
asterix Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Finally it'll be the case of "***** Phati Lakhon Paye.. Laut Ke Buddhu Ghar Ko Aaye.."..
Yoda-esque Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Think this is going to be one of those tours where the indian team doesn't win a single match
goose Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 The world cup is won, the next won is a while away, let the great man play.
Rahul Dravid Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 The world cup is won' date=' the next won is a while away, let the great man play.[/quote'] that too... the form he is in.. i think he will get 2 more centuries till end of test series.. and maybe a couple in the odi series. :two_thumbs_up:
NareshK Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 I have lots of respect for Dravid and being the team man he is, he will serve the side as he has done so many times in the past whenever there was a crisis. But this is a bad move and a step back. Let the team play with whatever weakness or problems they have and come over it. You only learn through failure. Not by cowing down in fear. WC winning team are a better side than the selectors think they are and they dont deserve to be treated like this. Shame on selectors and BCCI. What's the message they are sending ?
urbestfriend Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 oh Vinay Kumar  Truly unbelievable how this trundler finds a place in the team even after so many mediocre performances! I didn't know 3 ODis are so many!
Sid Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Many news channels are saying, this is Dravid's farewell ODI series, thats why he is picked :hmmm:
Andrew Peter Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Very Lame Move . Making Dravid play continous Cricket will only affect his game in the Test Matches. The man is outdated , mostly plays with a pathetic strike rate of 60 and deserves no place in the aggressive Odi World Champion team.
deepak_sach Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Ajinkya Rahane deserved chance.BTW rahane first ball duck in emerging players..

deepak_sach Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 rahul dravid a outdated? :finger: He has past his sell by date in ODIs.. We wont get past 250 even Once if he bats...
NareshK Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 The way Dravid has been treated over the years is pathetic. Why is he always the SOS man for India ? They have made him keep wickets, moved him up and down the order, dumped him from the ODI side and then recalled when the conditions are tough. While others who have performed worse than him have never had a question mark against their form and have taken their places for granted. Someone said on this forum said he is the most abused player in the side. I agree with him.
veer Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 i dont know why so much panic in Indian cricket.. first they dont create proper schedule for warm up matches.. cram in as many games as possible.. and then they come up with this strange selection.... BCCI need to let go of little bit of money and make sensible moves..

NareshK Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 If he is abused y doesnt he retire from ODIS? Its because he is a team man. He plays for the country and he is committed to it. What kind of a moron are you to question a legend about his retirement ? He knows when he has to retire.

Andrew Peter Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 rahul dravid a outdated? :finger: In the Odis Yes since the game has changed a lot in the last few years . In todays time when even scores around 300 have become common how does someone like Dravid help the team while chasing a big target? Raina , Kohli , Yuvi all of them score big runs at a good strike rate but dont see Dravid scoring the same big runs at an equal rate compared to youngsters. Except Great Sachin no other Buddha deserves to be anywhere closer to the Odi team.

What kind of a moron are you to question a legend about his retirement ? He knows when he has to retire. He just hasnt Evolved his Game to suit the Modern ODI cricket of what I saw of him in 2009. His style and Strike Rate is Great if we were Playing 5 years back from now.
phaedrus Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 absolutely baffling selection. and its not because RD deserves him place in the team or not. you chuck someone out to make way for youngsters, they do reasonably well in the ODIs and then you bring him back? for what? isnt this a good chance for those guys to get used to these conditions? Chikka's gang is getting looney, i tells ya
