Hard to understand why people keep bringin 90s. We were bad throughout, but never this bad in bowling. I thought Srinath, Kumble, The two Bangalore bowlers made sure we don't bowl so patheticly in overseas tours. I mean i know we used to suck but not this bad.. all throuhout. This has been one of those bad series, which comes once in 10 years but it's still not over, and thats good for us, since we still have chance to change it's result.

Yeah, I agree. It sort of brings back the memories from the 90s, but the bowling is far worse. Actually, we will probably never realize how good Kumble was. That man saved the day for us on so many occasions.

India end the day with 330 for 9. Kumble, used to play big part in these little times. Will be hard to find someone like him. There is a reason why no one, yes no one could replace him for all the 15+ years he played for INdia. No one came out to be better than him.

For followeres of Indian Cricket in the 90's none of us gave our team even an outside chance of winning overseas....We had just 2 capable batsmen atleast overseas in SRT,Azhar compared to SRT,Dravid,VVS,Gambhir and Sehwag now... well bowling combination of Srinath,Kumble and even Prasad in helpful conditions looks better than this attack though.Mongia vs Dhoni, Why is anyone one on this forum amazed that our expectations are higher now compared to 90's???

Kumble was useless in overseas tests in the 90s. He did well in SA in 92 but nothing else really.

Why is he a "poor guy"? The guy saw the team he supports win a 2nd world cup and is seen sharing the trophy with Tendulkar which you will probably never get a chance to get within a mile of.
