I still have most of my old books, school uniforms, pencil box, hair-bands, geometry box ( sparingly used even then) and a lot of other related paraphernalia. Of course, I never use any of it now. Its all there in an almirah. When it comes to friends, I'm much more attached to my college/dance/activity friends than school friends. I'm not that attached to my old place of residence, partly because we shifted when I was just 6. I'm extremely attached to my previous car. So many good memories in that. :(( Very attached to my dog also.
Shane Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 My Wills cricket bat. :(( It was the only thing I was attached to as a child, almost got three years of gully cricket out of it, till I finally had to leave it at the Goa airport, they didnt allow to board the plane with it. I may have a snap of it, need to find it on my drive :(( Was crying on my way back, then I was gifted a new bat as soon as we reached Mumbai, but it didnt really matter then, as I had lost my first love. :(( After that the novelty of life has always been a major factor in myself not getting attached to any materialistic possessions. I still miss that bat, soo many good memories with it. :((

It reminds me of old bombay a lot Vow, what a coincidence My folks kinda met like that in Income Tax Department. Fort office and their evening date - used to have south indian food in one of the udipi restaurants and goto movies, BST, Train travelling. Actually, not much changed in dating - people still do the same but on a higher scale. When I imagine how it must be in delhi during that time, those scenes from chashme buddhor come in mind..some karol bagh type garden, under a shade and romantic words like " Hi Flower " Awwww. lucky them. It must have been some awesome memories for them. By the way you forgot to mention anything about yourself in terms of romance in Mumbai rains, was that intentional? Delhi romance/dating would be perhaps very different. Romantic places would be places of historical and religious interests, both of which Delhi has in plenty. It depends on a person of course if he likes a walk with his beau in Karol Bagh/Lodhi Gardens or Humayun ka Maqbara? Mumbai is a bit limited there but then again it has ocean and beaches and what can top that? Although these days perhaps youngsters flocks more to the malls in both towns.

There are times when it (car) is like a house in itself, as you spend hours in it, often with yourself, thinking, listening to music, cursing at each other, and the world. I think everyone who has owned a car, or multiple ones, retains a soft spot for a special car.

Hard to let go of stuff like that. You are too young to get cynical dude. Dont let the attachments wither away with life :winky:

Sometimes I wonder how it would be to be a fly on the wall on Bandstand, or Lodhi Gardens or a day...for does that make me perverted lol

Sometimes I wonder how it would be to be a fly on the wall on Bandstand, or Lodhi Gardens or a day...for does that make me perverted lol ..lol, althought SRK's bungalow didn't exist..i have seen rekha from rear view mirror during those dates..interestingly enough, it was a hot date spot as we know it but we never said "lurker bandy pe date maar raha hain, it was like 8900 ( car # ) date maar rahi hain.." and when the friend came back, if the seat was pushed back and down..well, we knew he had a good time. I think all of us have carried our share of leftover hair pins and those big bands

From what I hear ( and have seen) , the places you mention in Delhi are places to do hanky panky more than pure romance/dating places. Although these days perhaps youngsters flocks more to the malls in both towns. True.

It went in a pretty bad accident which I was lucky to come out of unhurt. Seeing it in its smashed state the next day brought tears to my eyes. Twas my first car and all so...served me well till the end. I have the licence plate (which flew off after being smashed) for memory.
