Lost all respect for a bowler whose got a grand total of 8 wickets in International cricket. You were close. But feel the need to correct your slight error. He has 58 international wickets!

I think for that spell his average speed was 147. Awesome. Bowled good line and length most of the time. If a bit of luck was with him could have made India uncomfortable in chase.

One of Gambhir or Kohli might have made a joke about their wealth in comparison to his.

I'm not sure if he will be a good ODI bowler though outside England. I rate him in tests.

Now, I have seen Finn so little that it would not be fair to comment. Anybody who has followed him a lot, what does he think on this issue ?

He always troubled our batsmen and our batsmen have been just good enough and lucky to escape his initial burst.

In England, Rahane was struggling against him and here on dead pitches also he bowled better than others. But I have seen him bowling much better than this. Before test series, I was under the impression that he is better than Bresnan.

IMO, both format needs different kind of bowling approach.
BERGKAMP Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 We need to do with Yadav and Varun what ECB did with Finn. When they saw he had great potential and speed they took him out of all cricket for a few months and sent him on a special fitness and conditioning regime to build him up for the ashes last year. He has now gone from bowling 85-87mph to nearly 87-93mph and looks to be one of the finest pacers around.

ChanaLal Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 Hate to shatter illusions..but Finn used to bowl at 140 kph when he first started as a 17 year old. I recall seeing articles on him back then. Unless he is going to bowl 150 kph regularly, I don't see what is so startling. He lost his pace and has only just got back to what he used to bowl 3-4 years ago. No denying he's a better bowler now but that action is not the best. Simply being stronger isn't the secret of pace as we all know, otherwise weight lifters would be express pace.
