saneindian Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 This guy has been consistently hitting 140+ in the CL and yet he hasn't even found a place in the top 45 players of the country (outside the main team). There aren't too many bowlers in the country who can hit that pace consistently, such talent needs to be encouraged. The selectors still have time to rectify their mistake and add him to one of the squads.
nsareen Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 i absolutely agree, i've been pitching for him for some time now, he proved me right at least in CLT20. Good speed, decently accurate and nice variations. Nice bowler, no reason not to try him out. Has been their silent performer, along with malinga, is joint 3rd in the list of most wickets.
Sid Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Yes its shocking, bowled quite well with good pace and to make it worse bowlers like Aravind are in our intl. side and bowlers with potential are not even in Challengers
WeStMiDz Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 It is a real travesty. An absolute trundler who will NEVER play international cricket like Sumit Narwal makes a team yet a guy with real potential like Nechim cannot find a place. One can only hope that Sachin puts in a word, as that is the only way you'd think these pathetic selectors will take note.
MCcricket Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 HMM well he has potential , but his one day performance has been average , he should be picked based on potential , also his experience coming from u 19 , a tours , but he needs strong backing coming from Assam , which selectors will vouch from him.
nsareen Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Just confirmed GUYS!!!! Harbhajan Admits "Abu Nechim" one of our stars for winning the Cup!!! There you are .... Is anyone listening!!!!! ?????
rahulrulezz Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 In b4 some j@ck*****es claim that pace is not everything and Nechim needs to bowl like Vinay Koomar, Aravind and become a deadly line n length bowler in order to get selected

Was aravind selected for his one day performance ??????? To **** with the past stats in Domestic matches, they are useless most of the time, the one's with gr8 records get BUTCHERED in international tournaments. This lad has performed in this as close to an International Tournament if not already, and is in the top 3 wicket takers, with top 3 in the list of strike rates.... Pretty decent speeds and accuracy. Of course he had the support of Malinga and more importantly the confidence of knowing he will play throughout the tournament( that brings out the best out of you).

I agree with you completely , what I am quoting is selectors logic , and way selection works , how else can you explain A Srikant in the squad.
saneindian Posted October 9, 2011 Author Posted October 9, 2011 India Blue- Y.V. Krishanarty, Prashant Parameshwaran, Pradeep Sangwan and Irfan Pathan India Green- Abhimanyu Mithun, Samad Fallah, Ishwar Choudhary and S. Narwal India Red- Pankaj Singh, Jaydev Unadkat, T. Sudhendra and R.P. Singh Abu Nechim surely deserved a place ahead of so many of these bowlers.
Tiger80 Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Abu Nechim what a player 8 wicket and pace of over 140ks surely deserve aplace in Indian team. Is there anybody who will do anshan unless he will get selected:winky:
MCcricket Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Under Srikant's term most players from South were selected and also got a chance to play by Dhoni , most were mediocre,or not ready.Mithun , Arvind, V kUMAR, Vijay has talent but needs to learn , Mukund Iam not sure yet, now A Srikant.
asterix Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 One over I saw tonight when he consistently hit 143 KPH..on a Chepauk pitch.. Guy has potential.. Sachin is not doing enough..He should back these players.. There are *****y trundlers lobbying their way (using sports management companies) in to the national team.. What a travesty..

And I find it quite shameful that these companies even lobby for mopeds, when it is high-time we got our own trailblazer.
express bowling Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 In the not so distant past, the selectors atleast tried to pick fast-medium bowlers for the national team and did not take medium pacers unless they were seriously talented. For the last 12 months or so the demarcation between medium pacers and fast-medium pacers is gone. Either potential express bowlers are being picked or trundlers. That is very worrying because India became the number one test team when good fast-medium bowlers were preferred over medium pacers even when no genuine express bowler was around.
Misu243 Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 Is Abu Nechim from South india by any chance??? If not, he has no chance of making the Indian squad...******** Srikkanth thinks Vinay Kumar is better.
ganeshran Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 yaar saneindian, just that day you wanted Sarul Kanwar to be in the challenger trophy squad...how many players do selectors pick in the squad. But yeah I agree that Nechim deserved a place...
WC2011INDIA Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 Is the challenger trophy being telecasted? If yes, can someone please PM me a streaming link
