Nitish without doubt. Doesn't have any communal ghosts in the closet, comes from the heavily populated Hindi belt and a good recent record of administration. Question is, will the RSS allow the BJP to field a non-saffron candidate ? BTW add Gadkari to the poll, just because he's the President of the BJP.

Wrong vote...I wanted to vote for Nitish Kumar not the Kursi obsessed, selfish Advani. As much as I hate the congress...if Advani becomes the face of the NDA then I will never vote for them. This selfish man will take away all the advantage that the opposition has because of the anti cong sentiment.Seriously can't stand the sight of this guy.

^ Advani could be the single most reason, this time too, of NDA losing out to UPA even after the present UPA govt. is massively unpopular.. Chewtiya joker Advani has already started working on the downfall. He was the main reason NDA failed last time.. I'll vote for Nitish Kumar.. For once, I want BJP to think practically and not selfishly. But I know BJP will do a botch job..If it does, it deserves it..It never learns from it's mistakes..

I will vote for BJP myself if Nitish is the candidate. But BJP has a long history of shooting itself in the foot when they are on top and giving congress a get-out-of-jail-free card

^ I dont agree. BJP has zero chance of winning with the elections with Modi. It will galvanize the opposition so effectively that only a polarized majority could win the election for BJP. Nitish is BJP's best bet in 2014, he has a clean image, good governance record and can get more allies into the NDA fold. If both Congress and BJP dont get enough seats to stake a claim then Mayawati has a very good chance of becoming the PM with outside support from Congress like the United Front government

Modi has no chance because he will not be acceptable to coalition members and will also unite the entire opposition. Nitish Kumar has no support outside Bihar. Advani will be too old. So in the end it will come down to either Arun jaitly or Sushma Swaraj.

Let me know where has PM MMS support outside his constituency in Assam.. We need an acceptable and clean image PM candidate. I think Nitish being PM will be a great thing for NDA's future..BJP doesn't has mass base all over the country and the best option for BJP is to move ahead as NDA.. NDA needs a full term of 5 years. That'll ensure that all the past misdeeds of Congress/UPA be investigated properly and cases filed (Which stupid A B Vajpayee didn't do earlier as he tried to be a goody goody person). Would be interesting to see some cases going against Robert Vadra, Sharad Pawar, Chidu mama etc.

Well ,Seeing the present situation Nitish looks like good candidate for NDA as far as I'm concerned .Only if Nitish is ready to become PM . Modi ,except Gujarat, I don't think he fits well .

NDA is not UPA and therefore the whims of one supreme leader (like Sonia Gandhi) do not work here. MMS is only the PM because she wanted a rubber stamp otherwise if it was any other party where other leaders are allowed to voice their opinion then someone like Pranab Mukherjee would have been PM in case the leader of the party was not going to be the PM. In NDA, the BJP is the largest party and the PM will will from the BJP only. Also, the reality of the NDA currently is that Nitish Kumar and Narendra Modi will not, under any circumstances, accept each other as the PM therefore I don't see how either of them can actually reach the top post. Then there's also the thing about managing a big coalition Govt - when Nitish Kumar still cannot accept some of the BJP leaders then how do you expect him to run a big coalition Govt?

I would say bring MP CM into national frame. He is far better option than anyone even better than Modi.
All of them are better than your beloved Modi. Nitish Kumar would kick Modi's rear even in Gujrat. Okay maybe not. Gujjus tend to think differently than rest of India. :--D

Rather simple, BJP is not going to get in power without folks like Nitish. If they want to be part of coalition that leads India they better get used to the notion that none of their candidates will help them get there.
