kabira Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 He will skip WI ODIs. skip entire thing, just go to Aruba and vacation.
flamy Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 How come nobody ever talks about him as one of the all time greats? O lol ur back, eh? :acute:
Trichromatic Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Now Dhoni has scored 4 consecutive fifties. Record for India is held by Sachin (5). http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/content/records/283044.html
Lord Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 NOt much of a test player but man, in odis the guy is something else. In my opinion, he is the greatest middle order batsman to have played the game. Just look at his record. He is Michael be van with a power hitting game. our best ODI bat ever :whack:
Number Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Dhoni avg. while chasing is 50.92 , very tough task for a Wicket Keeper . Against SL while chasing its 85.36 :omg: , that too in 18 innings . He loves SL bowlers.
Trichromatic Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Dhoni avg. while chasing is 50.92 ' date= very tough task for a Wicket Keeper . Against SL while chasing its 85.36 :omg: , that too in 18 innings . He loves SL bowlers. 105 in 57 matches which India won while chasing.
saneindian Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Among the batsmen who have batted in 172 innings or more in ODIs (MSD has batted in 172 innings in 192 ODIs he has played so far), only two of them have a 50+ average, Bevan and MSD. Bevan- 196 innings, 67 not outs, 6912 runs@54 at a SR of 74 with 7 100s and 55 50s with a top score of 108* MSD- 172 innings, 45 not outs, 6372 runs@50 at a SR of 89 with 7 100s and 42 50s with a top score of 183*
Number Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 105 in 57 matches which India won while chasing. that's excellent, even Bevan has 86.25. Dhoni is better against spin , Bevan was better against Deadly pace.
TheWall Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Well Done, wish he could do the same when we travel...
ganeshran Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Only Clarke and Bevan average more while chasing. Qualifier : 50 innings
Andrew Peter Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Averages dont matter . Even the most criticized / Humiliated /abused Cricketer of all time by his own team fans : Misbah ul Haq averages 44 in the odis . These averages are boosted by Not Outs and dont necessarily mean that the Batsman scores 50 every time he comes out to bat .
Pagalpanti Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 This not out argument is crap. Its not as if he always ends up not out scoring 10-15. Out of 45 games where he was not out. 30 of them he scored 30+ which includes 17 fifties and 4 centuries. What else you want?
Dravid_TheWall Posted October 17, 2011 Author Posted October 17, 2011 Averages dont matter . These averages are boosted by Not Outs and dont necessarily mean that the Batsman scores 50 every time he comes out to bat . There is a reason Misbah is hated by his own fans, may average 44 but check that strike rate of his in this modern era :finger: Then check Dhoni's average and strike rate :hatsoff: The guy above has explained the "not out" thing.
