Is Rahane too slow for LOI cricket?

Rahane doesn't have the power to muscle boundaries in ODi, look at his pint size body. That's why Pujara is so much better option, he might not have big shots, but can muscle boundaries, a physically much stronger player than Rahane,

Pujara can "muscle boundaries" - sure?

Pujara has a better alround game. Both Rohit and Rahane has poor leg side game. In middle overs, you need better strike rotation than risky shots like these guys play.

Its a good thing for tests because there you should play with the full face but no so good for ODIs. needs to work on this.

Rahane can play nice strokes. That is not his problem. His poor performances in ODIs have been because of his unwillingness to take singles and twos with regularity. He needs to improve this aspect.

Even the ball which hits the top of off is hit back to cover, bowler or mid-on rather than using hands to maneuver the ball for singles.

Rahane will get 30-40 ODI's to prove he doesn't belong in the ODI's I am kind of disappointed by Sandeep Patil. Kaarthik has been around since 2004 and everybody knows he is a very limited player. It doesn't take rocket scientist to figure out that any middle order that contains both Rayudu and Rahane with Rohit at the top of the order is an absolute disaster.

Seems like India will have Rahane and Pujara as Test Specialists only ..if Pujara can't get a game even in the absence of Gauti/Yuvi/Raina/Dhoni, I am afraid when will he have a game in ODI's then.

I would stick with Rahane I have a feeling needs time to learn and improve in odis, but will come good. Can play pace bowling and with world cup in oz... Plus his fielding is simply amazing on par with Sir. Would keep him in side based on his electric fielding, has a radar on hitting stumps
