BCCI just goofed up. I agree that Harby should have been demoted. I aint sure about Raina being given A grade. Afterall, he has yet to cement his position in the test side. Yuvi is a senior and has been there for a while so I can understand. Grade C is mostly joke. Lot of the players don't deserve that.

Ishant isn't a reglular in ODI or t20 and hasn't done that well in tests overall (bar a crap WI team and spell down under) yet he has a grade A contract. Nehra has been an integral member of ODI team for last few years since his recall, his spell v Pak took us to final. Hmm I guess what Srikant is saying with this contract business is we are selecting the ones for the future. But it shouldn't be that way. You should look at a current players value to the team. If there was a world cup tomorrow nehra would be in the squad for sure. This is like the Katich fiasco. Mukund deserved a contract of some sort. Also Bhajji at grade A :hysterical: Srikkanth has clearly given a few players a push here. The problem is, those players have hardly done anything noteworthy. I just can't understand how Ashwin suddenly became good enough to be Grade B, while Ashish Nehra got the boot. And Chawla, Mithun, Vinay? Totally stupid. This kind of cherry-picking is what is disturbing. All the players that I have listed in the Shocking decisions section have sycophancy written all over them. Compare Chawla and Yusuf Pathan. Pathan won 2-3 games for us last year. Can't recall Chawla's recent performance. I would select Pathan over Chawla in ODI team anyday. None of them are good enough for tests. Chawla was selected randomly for WC also. Rahul Sharma hasn't played a match yet. Mithun and Unadkat - wth Nehra contributed in WC SF win. Chawla has done NOTHING to deserve a contract. Vinay has clearly profited thanks to his sports management company. Mithun, seriously, just how ridiculous can we get? Although Vijay could have his past "performances" speaking for him, what has Rohit Sharma done to be in Grade B and Ishant in Grade A? The most shocking is that Praveen Kumar and Ashwin share the same level. In 1 year, Ashwin became good enough to be Grade B? In other words, Ashwin and PK are as good as each other? Can you believe it? :facepalm: Munaf and Mithun at the same level, well, all we must do is thank the board for not giving their kins central contracts. And how did Umesh, Aaron, Rahul Sharma, Shikhar and Unadkat become good enough for Central contracts? What have they even done to get a contract? I feel really concerned for these guys as we are clearly rushing them and at this rate, we risk burning them out.

Honestly, it would be difficult to pick one among Vijay and Mukund in an XI as Vijay can bore the hell out of the opposition while Mukund would play way too many shots and get out accelerating at the wrong time.

Likes of Pujara, Sudeep tyagi, and dhawal kulkarni were included in C grade without playing any game for India as they had done well in FC. Similarly, they picked Rahul Sharma just for his potential in C grade. So chill, they are only in C grade and the goal for making contract to have bigger pool of players responsible to BCCI and have more options.

Aaron has shown potential and Mishra and Pujara too have not done anything special yet that is why they are in C grade. C grade is for potential players as well as who have played a few matches but not regular. Munaf could have been in B as he has played most of ODIs for India in the last year. These all players are there just to keep them in national radar. Every year a few new players make it and few players go out of the list.

BCCI needs to make players realize test is the ultimate game, unless there is any incentive in performing for tests, player won't be motivated to do well.
