Blue Panther Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 They are bowling the same speeds like the indian bowlers bowled in west indies and in england, yes the weather makes a big difference but still they are still very slow, umesh yadav bowled in high 140s in jaipur which is as hot as abu dhabi. Where are the pak pace bowling fans now?

msb1991 Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Weather and format makes a huge difference. Wasn't Aaron around 130kph and Yadav around 135kph in their second days of bowling in the Irani Trophy? It is the reason why picking Test bowlers based purely on top speeds does not bring reward.

One&only Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Only two fast Bowlers are playing, Junaid who on the west indies tour was bowling around 120-130kms is not consistently clocking 135 ks, however Gul who's supposed to be 140 plus is in the 127-132 kms , seems he's still not in top form
deathmonger Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Truth be told, even Pakistan has had their share of mediocre trundlers (Tanvir etc) but they always had a bunch of world class fast bowlers. With the retirement of the two W's most of the new bowlers they tried were mediocre but there was always Akhtar (brilliant a times, **** at times but still phaaaaast), Asif (trundler but since he was a good bowler got a free pass from Pakis) and later Amir. But now with Asif,Amir in jail and Akhtar in retirement and new hero Wahab (good bowler but vastly overrated due to that Mohali 5 wkt haul) under ICC investigation Pakistan now are finally at a point where they don't have any phaaaaaaaaast bowlers. To make matters worse, now we have three 140+ bowlers - Ishant, Varun, Umesh. It's like your gorgeous wife whom you loved so much has run off with your worst enemy. Can't wait to defeat them in some ICC tourney then chide them for playing all spinners by spamming on cricinfo and other sports forums. :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:
rkt.india Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Junaid, Gul, Cheem,a Welegadhera are not genuine pacers at any stretch of imagination...only Gul is one who can bowl quick, but he pushes it only in ODIs. I have never seen him bowling fast in test matches. Both SL and Pak do not have genuine pacers right now.

Junaid is good upcoming pros Cheema is a good late found gul as always the leader of the back you can never yet compare pakistan bolwing with indians, the back up bolwers such as wahab, sohail, and other few youngsters are all waiting for their chance. as for speed, tune back when ODI series starts. Sahibzada Shahid Khan Afridi alone is faster then Indians lol :p

Ashwin is as good as Ajmal if not better. Apart from that I think they are ahead of us when it comes to speed and even with this speed their pace bowling unit has been quite good.

Apart from that I think they are ahead of us when it comes to speed and even with this speed their pace bowling unit has been quite good. never said it wasn't good. cheema and junaid are decent bowlers even though they are trundlers. it's they who are screaming phaaaaaaaaaaast phaaaaaaaaaaast all the time. as things go, now we have the faster bowlers (never said better - umesh and aaron have hardly played any matches). as for the likes of their bench - tanvir, rana naved etc they are as good as the likes of munna, nehra etc.
