Day 3: Opinions/Review Today was by far the best day of the Test match for me. The first hour was fantastic. Looked like our seamers were giving it the full tilt. Credit must be given to both Ishant and Umesh for trying hard on these less-juicy pitches. Except the second session, all other sessions went totally India's way. The second session was a bit of 65 (India)/35 thing. Chanderpaul and Sammy's partnership was looking ominous. Good bowls were also traveling to the boundary. But today's standout performer was R.Ashwin. Second best Test debut with 9 wickets. Dream start. Our openers gave another good start. Then Rahul and Sachin batted us to the more comforting zone. Good to see Sachin spending some time at the crease. First session, tomorrow will decide the fate of the match. Important that our batsman play it out. We've enough time in this match and only 120 odd runs to get. Overall it was a very pleasing and interesting day. Test Cricket at it's best.

Bowlers bowling well. Batsmen batting well. Couldn't have gone better. Ashwin was very good. Would love to see Yadav and Ishant on more helpful pitches. Looks like we may finally be getting a good bowling attack to go with all that batting.

This looks like one of those pitches where batting gets easier on days 4 and 5 because of how extremely slow the pitch is. So even with the wear and tear the turn is going to be too slow to bother good batters. The batters just need to account for the low bounce and straight deliveries (10 lbws and 7 bowled dismissals so far!). With 124 runs to get and 8 wkts in hand we just need 1 good partnership to secure a win. I would say India is ahead 65-35 in this game at the end of day 3.

And more importantly we finally took 20 Wickets. So bowlers need to be given full credit this time. :two_thumbs_up: to them.

was really annoyed at Ishant. He was bowling full tilt today, good pace, regularly over 140km+, and in the 1st innings he was way below par pace, similarly in england and south africa (in WI bowled at good pace). Not sure why he holds back. I have seen him clock up 150km with ease, but never seen him do it in Tests, always have a feeling he gives only 80% in his bowling effort, probably preservation.

Ishant has somehow picked this disease - bowls one excellent spell and follows it up with extremely mediocre performance... in England also he followed this trend..
bad ishant good ishant phenomen like anderson had some years ago. hope he transforms into good ishant permanently.

He has an ankle problem. I guess he doesn't want to make it worse because that could affect his selection for Australia series. We need him to be fit for that series. Hopefully, there he will bowl consistently 140+
