His problem, aside from the fact that is unselectable, is that he never knows how to quit on top. He would make a nice statement on a given problem and then go rambling on for another 30 minutes :(( He can't name the third federal agency that he would remove as a president.. With candidates and debates like these...Obama will definitely win the re-election... Republican primiaries this time has made me of the opinion that Indian politicians are actually not that bad, nor are the Indian folks (in general). When Caine is asked about sexual harassment certain people in audience booed the interviewer. WTF?? When Ron Paul was asked if a terminal patient should die if he didnt have insurance, interviewer was booed again. It almost makes you beleive that humans everywhere are the same, Americans maybe have started to turn on each other and make weird calls now that economy is hevaily hit and the golden days seem to be over. As for Perry, how did he ever win the TX debates??:facepalm:

Ironically, that is what makes his candidacy most attractive to me. You got to tip a hat to him - he is consistent and relentless. Jon Huntsman is another solid candidate - but his acceptance of evolution and climate change science, combined with his Mormon faith and the fact that he worked for the Obama administration in China will be his undoing. He has a strong conservative track-record, credibility in foreign affairs, and intellectual gravitas. But again, he will not get through the primaries. Pity The rest of the field looks like a bunch of Joe Bidens, Al Sharptons and Nancy Pelosis in a room together.

He known for not being good at debates.. Seriously? Wow! I though participating in national/state debate was one of the pre-requisites for contending for these positions. Maybe not. Dont mind me asking Lurks, I keep hearing about his "unselectability" all the time, is it the age or his political correctness? It is a combination of things really. First up he is a man of conviction and has consistently stood behind his values which is quite exemplary. His drawbacks though are as under: a) Does not have a widespread following. Has a set of core supporters that stick with him, but that set does not seem to grow. b) Is a Liberatarian at heart which by definition limits the rule of Government completely. While there can be a case to be made for market deciding in end what works and what does not, there are situations where Government has its own role to play (like in present economy). His almost complete dissolution of Government does not get him too many friends. c) His anti-foreign dominance theme is by itself reason enough to have US not vote for him. As great a nation as US is, an average American does see his as the best country in the world and one that leads the world. To tell them US is no different than say India or China, is something that does not go with any average American. d) His appearance does not score him woman votes as Clinton or Obama or even Romney does. e) Lastly his intellactual heft renders him support-less from the right-wing pagal brigade whose world resolve around gun-bible-limbaugh. xxx

That's how most of the politicians do get voted in USA. People in general are pretentious enough to care about looks in a presidential election. They are worried so much about the exterior, how others perceive themselves physically, they care about looks more often than not. If you invent a product that makes one look thinner and prettier, you have hit jackpot here. Basic smartness in oration will help. That's where Perry will fail. I have heard people say they would vote for Palin because they can relate to her (down-syndrome kid, great looks etc.) and not what she talks about. You need to look good and talk good too.

Charisma, dude. It's all about charisma. You just cannot be fat or truly "ugly" and get elected President. He also has strong fiscal credentials .. he strong-armed Clinton into balancing the budget back in 1995-96.
