Sooda Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 LOL.. Some decent SLAs but need to wait to see if they are any consistent. Bhatt had a good season last year but faded, there is also Karnatakas Apanna, Maharshtras Darekar, Srinivas from TN ...Vikas Mishra is an offie from Delhi was very highly rated and had a good FC season a few years ago.. still very young
Magneto Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 Hardly any. Off-break bowlers are either not getting selected or getting battered by batsmen on flat wickets and leggies are anyway difficult to find (and we already have Rahul Sharma, Amit Mishra and Piyush Chawla around); so we have a slew of left-arm spinners all around the country dominating the national scene. These left-arm spinners are: 1) KP Apanna (Karnataka) 2) Akshay Darekar (Maharashtra) 3) A Lalith Mohan (Hyderabad) 4) Shahbaz Nadeem (Jharkhand) 5) Aushik Srinivas (Tamil Nadu) (terrible averages, but has potential, and is only 18 years old) 6) Iqbal Abdullah (Mumbai) It's also possible that Bhajji has done a national conspiracy because of which all spinners in the country have disappeared. Thay way he'll secure himself in the Indian team for another 5-6 years the moment he returns.
Number Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Iqbal Abdulla - Left arm spinner. Would like to see him in ODIs somewhere in next 2 years.
Needforspeed Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Apanna, Bhatt, Iqbal Abdullah are the names that come to mind. Other than the usual suspects like Rahul Sharma and Amit Mishra, hardly any leggies. Aushik Srinivas (TN) another Slow left arm seems to be a good talent. He is young (18) and has good potential.
sumvell Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 liked iqbal abdulla. but still to see him bowling in a 4 day match....
asterix Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 We need a good pair of spin bowlers for upcoming home series Can't rely of overhyped IPL bowlers like Fatwin to lead the spin attack. Ojha shouldn't be ignored anymore by the dickhead egoistic captain. Effing sala, of once, he should start thinking creating a better team for future..Can't keep on ignoring and hurtling from one match to other.. We want a good Leg spinner, a left arm ordodox and off-spin/doosra bowler (not a carrom playing finger spinner).. 1. Rahul Sharma 2. Ojha 3. We need a proper strike bowler as an off spinner and not an effing pretender who move slower than a pregnant woman, on the field.
Dravid_TheWall Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Ojha is only one who is ready. Mishra may be good at home. Rahul not ready for tests yet I think look at his FC record.

Can try snapdeal as well, they are giving good discounts
Number Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Ashwin should be given more chances , at least at home. Thing is we failed to find a leggie in the last 4 years for Australia test series. Thats not Ashwin's fault. Even the best offie Ajmal couldn't buy wickets there.
Sid Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Asterix unkil I remember a year and half back when you were on a bandwagon about the same dickheaded egoistic kaptaan favouring Ojha over more tailunted Mishra.Times have changed :fishing:

Sooda Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Ojha cannot play ODI cricket he is fat and slow, need to be able to field a bit I have not seen Ashwin lately has he really gone that big?
vvvslaxman Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Ojha cannot play ODI cricket he is fat and slow, need to be able to field a bit I have not seen Ashwin lately has he really gone that big? Not big. He looks unfit. He said he depends on diet maintain his weight rather than proper exercise. Only at the age of 40 you depend on diet. Even at this age you can control your weight through exercise by keeping your metabolism up. Judging by his fitness he doesn't involve in high intensity sports. I don't think he doesn't have proper fitness regimen.
Old guy Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 i think ojha is our best bet outside subcontinent cos his main variation is flight, change of pace etc not doosra or carrom ball so he iwll be effective in pitches which have bit of bounce..as he alwyas flights the ball even against west indies imo he was more impressive then ashwin also he can do holding job much better then ashwin as he has better control
MCcricket Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Iqbal Abdullah seems to have potential, though this year heasn't been got for him in Ranji's,Chawla needs to improve a bit but has potential,Aushik Srinivas, Bharghav butt are decent, no stand outs though. This year has been a stand out for debutant pacers, bats.
Cricket Tragic Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Upcoming spin bowlers There are a million threads on phhhassst bowlers but not many on spinners. So who are the young Indian spinners that have the tailunt to make an impact in international cricket?
rkt.india Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 most are left arm spinners. Cannot see any decent right arm off spinner or leg spinner in our domestic cricket other than who are playing or have played for India.
asterix Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Good topic.. I think in the coming IPL, we should be able to shortlist some upcoming spinners..
rkt.india Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 http://stats.espncricinfo.com/vijay-hazare-trophy-2011/engine/records/bowling/most_wickets_career.html?id=6763;type=tournament This the list of top wicket takers in Vijay Hazaare trophy and I can see only right arm spinner that is Sumit Ruikar, an off spinner, 8 wickets in 4 matches.
