Manny_Pacquiao Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 sorry, but whats the point of traveling to a foreign country if you find everything there so revolting? might as well stay back home. if millions of thai people havent got a problem eating that stuff, why should you? its hilarious how western people are so quick to put down the food in other countries. i would much rather eat the crickets and locusts than eat a big mac with fries, no guesses as to which one is healthier.

Everything is fine now. You can see sandbags everywhere but the water has receded sometime back. They are still cleaning up parts of the city but the main attractions are open to the public.

coffee_rules Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 I have once eaten a fried roach (in the Insectorium in Montreal). It was a cuisine show in the museum and they asked for volunteers. I ate it..it was crunchy , no apparent taste, tongue was a bit stingy later.

Completely agree. Its quite interesting seeing how the body/mind handles the change in circumstances when people are thrust out of their comfort zones. Generally speaking, people are a lot stronger than they think.

You can find a lot of weird stuff here in Bangkok -- Chicken feet (with the nails still in tact), cow tongue/lung etc. I think you can find some crocodile/snake meat if you look hard enough
