It was a half miracle that Imran and Kapil came back from their injuries in '82 and '84 respectively. I am sure you remember Tendulkar's tennis elbow and the support and medical attention he received from the BCCI - there was no such thing when Kapil had his knee operated upon and he did not have the luxury of "resting" selective matches like Tendulkar - if he was fit he would play. And he was a fast bowler, not a batsman. I find it pretty disappointing that the Tendulkar bhakts choose to bring down other Indian greats to glorify him and you've just joined the club. BTW, here are some numbers from Kapil's last 16 test matches (after the Australian tour where he took 25 wickets in 5 tests) : 16 matches - 33 wickets at an average of around 30 and a batting average of around 40! Tendulkar doesn't even have a batting average to match up with Kapil over the tours to England and Australia and in fact maybe the entire last year, forget about the bowling bit.
