rkt.india Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Though I knew he will not be selected for rest of the ODIs, but still I was hoping that there is 1% chance that he can be selected. The guy has 2-fers in 4 FC matches this season and is a lone warrior in a poor bowling attack of Assam. You know how good this guys is when he has taken 12 wickets in 4 matches and none of the other bowler in his team has taken more than 3 wickets. It certainly tells us how good he could have been if had support from the other end. The guy is a serious talent and his continuous ignorance is really baffling. I will be hugely disappointed if we lose such a natural genuine talent.
Tiger80 Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 India desperately need death bowlers in ODI yet our selectors are going with tried and tested trundlers again and again.I don't think Umesh can be good death bowler ,Varun Aaron had shown some traits but in series against windies he is quite poor.
Stuge Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 This is his performance in recent Ranji matches . http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/523011.html http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/523004.html http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/522998.html http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/522994.html

It shows the kind of pitches were there to play. He has taken two 5-wicket hauls in 4 matches.
gakgupta Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Cheeka.....Pls go to an eye specialist if you have some freaking problem with them......a guy like me never played some genuine cricket can clearly see lot of potential, how in the world with so much intl exp can't see it........f**k u
Needforspeed Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Abu Nechim has been ignored for reasons other than cricket. Board is playing politics. None of the players who played in the ICL have been considered for India selection as far as I know (correct me if I am wrong). Secondly, the representative in the selection committee from East Zone, Raja Venkat was recently described as a "rubber stamp" by the Assam Cricket board. It is a well known fact that the Bengal and Assam boards were trying to get someone else to represent East Zone, but since he is politically with the group in power in BCCI he has retained his position. Unfortunately these factors have played havoc with Abu Nechim's career. Talent-wise he is as good if not better than Aaron or Yadav. While trudlers were selected in the Irani Trophy and NKP Salve Trophy, this guy was not even considered. It was only Mumbai Indians who really recoganized his talent and Sachin has a high opinion of him. I rally dont know what else Abu Nechim can do to make the selectors notice him.
BeautifulGame Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Its always happen to plate league players.Regardless of how good their performance are they simply dont get noticed. Its nothing new. Good thing is with IPL now there his talent wont be lost.if he performs in the IPL like he did in CLT20 then selectors simply cant ignore.

In fact most of the fast bowling talent in the country is from the plate league. Elite league has mostly trudlers.
vishalvirsingh Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 This is SHOCKING and Grave Injustice..... Sachin and Bhajji have Openly Appreciated him in IPL. V all have seen him bowling at 144K to 145K consistently at GOod length. He has been among Wickets in practically All the Matches....that I have seen him or read about him. He seems to have the Pace of Varun( slower than Yadav) and Wicket taking ability of Yadav..... So it is SAD to say the Least as to why he is no on the Plane to Australia....I am sure he is better than MIthun, Vinay or Irfan Today. I am also surpsised by DINDA not being preferred to Mithun....... I Feel DINDA, ABu and to quite an extent Even Gony wud have been better than Mithun. Though if I had to choose 1 between Mithun, VK or Irfan I wud choose Mithun only as it seems irfan is a slow trundler and VK is a trundler and mithun is a Fastish trundler...and has capability to bpunce the ball as well so mithun edges both. Dinda has Pace and bounce and a great Slow ball so he seems Better. Abu has cocnsistent pace and some Swing so he or Dinda were the best Choice.
Needforspeed Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 The unfortunate part is that beyond Ranji Trophy he has not been given any opportunity to prove himself. It was baffling to see that he figured in neither the Irani Trophy or even the NKP Salve trophy. One hopes that he is selected for the Duleep Trophy and Deodhar Trophy at least.
Trundler27 Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Yea i'm not sure what is going on with Nechim. He is pivotal for one of the best teams in the ipl and yet he is not even considered for fringe selection in the national side considering the amount of cricket being played by India. Another person who is intriguing me is TP Sudhindra of MP. That fella is taking a lot of wickets this season..... Any idea if there's some potential there? he is 27 already but he is the only india seamer that cricinfo has classified as 'RF'. Problem is that he too played in the icl

panther Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 i saw a little bit of him in ipl looks like a decant prospect
Trundler27 Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 N0 RF...more of RMF..120-130..seam and swing bowler Damn those liars at cricinfo.... :haha: oh well sigh
saneindian Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 The only reason I can think of is the East Zone selector being completely against him. Nechim shouldn't be disappointed though. His chance will come sooner or later. I won't be surprised to see him in the national side within the next 6-9 months.
Old guy Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 now ipl will come into play if he is good form and performs even once or twice in ipl he iwll come into cnotice of people and than selectors cant ignore him though t20 performances should not be basis but in this case they would be helpful to him
carnish Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 I guess its more bad luck for Dinda than Nechim cause he has played against better oppositions on some very flat wickets for bengal this season although both have given good performances... guess cheeka and others be a little daring in selecting quickies with some pace rather than going for pathan and mithun who we all know are not upto the mark
