velu Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 Samsung CFO sees Q2 results 'not that good' Samsung Electronics expects its second-quarter earnings to be "not that good," CFO Lee Sang Hoon said. Lee's comments were confirmed by the company to Bloomberg after they were first reported by South Korean media. The CFO was asked questions on his way to an internal meeting, Clara Lee, a spokeswoman for Samsung, said. Samsung is expected to post operating profit of KRW 8.4 trillion (USD 8.2 billion) in the three months ending June, according to the average of 35 analyst estimates compiled by Bloomberg. This is down from as high as KRW 10.2 trillion in the third quarter of 2013. The company is under pressure from increased competition in the high end of the smartphone market, as well as more local players in emerging markets producing cheaper phones at the low end of the market. Looks like iPhone 5S completely obliterated galaxy S5 and chinese/indian/moto eaten samsungs mid to lower end smartphone pies.. predicting a tough journey for samsung , considering bigger iPhones and a direct competitor for Note series will also be delivered frm apple.. guess a decent usable iWatch might help samsung , but not expecting any ground breaking things from iWatch excpet health related stuff
Old guy Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 Looks like iPhone 5S completely obliterated galaxy S5 and chinese/indian/moto eaten samsungs mid to lower end smartphone pies.. predicting a tough journey for samsung , considering bigger iPhones and a direct competitor for Note series will also be delivered frm apple.. guess a decent usable iWatch might help samsung , but not expecting any ground breaking things from iWatch excpet health related stuff not just iphone many people i know went for sony phone or lg phone and htc s3 was best phone in market when it came with no competition from oher android oem same with note 2 but since then they have not produced one killed flagship ..iphone 5s also did ok according to all reports and apple expected more

velu Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 yeah...they are going to make bg impact in china with next phone thats why i think there might be cheaper bigger iphone with older specs :hmmm: dont think there will be a cheaper iPhone .. smasung note 3 was far more costlier than S4.. maybe 5.5inch iPhone will be 100 $s costlier than 4.7 inch iPhone.. think east asians are the big fans of bigger phones .. taiwan , japs and chiennse r already mad of apple , note series will take a big hit.. my opinion is apple products are premium brands and priced fairly.. when iPod came it was cheaper than sonys.. still macbook laptops r cheaper than sony vaio.. even iPad prices are almost same as galaxy tabs.. when iPhone came , price was comparable to N series..
