For a full length delivery, playing on the back foot, eventually caught infront of the wickets LBW. Worst part about the dismissal is.......his bat is very far from the ball when played and he got into a very ugly position. Some of the ex-palyers claim that he is on a rise and would come back to his much celebrated form. But he doesn't seem like he will ever do that. Some argue that when Dravid can do that Ponting can do either. But both have completely varied style of batting. Dravid relies solid technique and ponting on his amazing instincts. With age instincts would disappear but not technique

With age instincts would disappear but not technique Good post. He's been given the long rope, definitely by Aussie hire and fire standards. I think the India series will be his last if he fails to perform. He's pushed to the wall, and our bowlers can pressurize him into making mistakes, given that he's already under so much pressure. Or it can work the other way around, and the pressure could cauterize him into a mean batting machine in the series.

mishra Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 I watched the game yesterday for about 2 hours before going to bed..... The bounce in the wicket was jut excellent. If ball landed on seam it was wicket taking delivery. Correct line and length combined with seam movement, Batsman stood no chance. TBH I kind of also felt that these PK Mithun and VK arent bad choice if wickets are going to be like that in next WC.
