vvvslaxman Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Viru did not even fill half his potential in ODIs where as Yuvi time and again delivered for India as finisher. Much better match winner.
rkt.india Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Yuvraaj...three consecutive Man of the Series...only Indian to achieve this feat in ODIs, if I am correct.:two_thumbs_up:
MCcricket Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 To each his own. I rate Ganguly very highly and IMO he is India's 2nd best ODI batsman ever. Agree
Ranjha Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Yuvraj..delivered in key tournaments and one of the top indian odi batsman as far as mos is concerned. But Sehwag is brilliant as well. Just dont think as consistent in odis.

Just dont think as consistent in odis. has become very consistent in last 2-3 yrs. that's why his avg has increased from 31 to 35.
King Tendulkar Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Definitley Yuvi. Sehwag has consisitently under peformed in odis
Magneto Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Rohit is looking good. He mentions how he was learning to be a finisher from MSD and UV. And that's why he could not finish 2 of the 3 matches where he had the opportunity :winky:
deathmonger Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 And that's why he could not finish 2 of the 3 matches where he had the opportunity :winky: he's just starting out
Lord Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 he's just starting out plus hes a mumbaikar, choking itni jaldi thodi jayegi
BeautifulGame Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Yuvi Yuvraj has been great for us in all 2 world cups he played whereas Sehwag has always been average in world cups. In a big pressure game Yuvraj is far more reliable than Sehwag. So Yuvi anyday of the week.
Sachin=GOD Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 has become very consistent in last 2-3 yrs. that's why his avg has increased from 31 to 35. but considering how talented he, he could have achieved much more in ODIs. Yuvraj has won many, many matches and has been more consistent and he also comes lower down the order but still has a good average and strike rate. Hopefully Sehwag will continue this good form in ODIs.
carnish Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Ganguly better than both...But UV>>> VIRU...
Lord Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Ganguly better than both...But UV>>> VIRU... no way.played in powerplays n still had a S/R of 75:facepalm:
deathmonger Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 no way.played in powerplays n still had a S/R of 75:facepalm: 90s
carnish Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 no way.played in powerplays n still had a S/R of 75:facepalm: the game was different during those days... strike-rate didnt matter as much as these days and most times he scored big he usually took india home... although i should agree even viru does that
master22 Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 the game was different during those days... strike-rate didnt matter as much as these days and most times he scored big he usually took india home... although i should agree even viru does that ganguly was truly great between 1997-2001.After that not much to talk about he was just ok who mainly used to bash the minnows.
Lord Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 the game was different during those days... strike-rate didnt matter as much as these days and most times he scored big he usually took india home... although i should agree even viru does that it did.Jayasuriya,gilly,Anwar,M.Waugh,Gibbs,SRT all had much better S/R
carnish Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 ganguly was truly great between 1997-2001.After that not much to talk about he was just ok who mainly used to bash the minnows. was referring to those days only... after that he became the captain... :giggle:
carnish Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 it did.Jayasuriya' date='gilly,Anwar,M.Waugh,Gibbs,SRT all had much better S/R[/quote'] no it didn't... he has a much better average than most of the guys you named there i guess only sach has better... and thats what mattered... plus he batted with sach who kept the pace up from the other end... btw his SR dropped after he became captain and after 2002 i don't think ganguly was good... i am talking about the guy from 1996-2001...thats his best time...
