vamos_rafa Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 it is merely an inflammation and nothing else..people are making too much out of this now..yes..after this series he will have to go for a surgery..and good only..as he would miss IPL etc...according to me ishant must be preserved only for test series
peterparker Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 i cannot understand this..this person played one full series without any break..and was clocking 90mph also...was even reversing the ball..and now all of a sudden he seems to be injured...if he was injured, he would not have bowl like this against west indies..he was faster than umesh n aaron most of the time...
Old guy Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 i think he will play it many players play with injuries in important series atleast now they told the truth and i guess surgery can be postponed for now
Sehwag1830 Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Ishant is given a cortisone shot Å¢s IshantÃÔ left ankle is again troubling him, he got a cortisone injection during the day... However, the team management has no plans, right now, of asking for a replacement/additional player. http://telegraphindia.com/1111217/jsp/sports/story_14894023.jsp
saneindian Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Ankle straps came off --he was to bowl only 6 overs-- He has some discomfort -- And now Cortisone shots. Send 2 pacers to Australia right away.
Needforspeed Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Cortizone injections...May help him to get thru the first 2 tests. But harmful in the long term.
saneindian Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Rediff saying Ishant's replacement to be named in the next 24 hours.
Lord Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 cortisone shots for looose strapping?:hysterical:
rkt.india Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 I knew it has to happen. He has already played so many series with troubled ankle.

G_B_ Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 I just hope zaheer comes through Praveen Kumar and Ishant are big blows
Old guy Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 I just hope zaheer comes through Praveen Kumar and Ishant are big blows aaron toohe was raw but on these conditions he would ve been handful
Karan114 Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Rediff saying Ishant's replacement to be named in the next 24 hours. Finally some sense.
BeautifulGame Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Rediff saying Ishant's replacement to be named in the next 24 hours. Not really.Rediff is saying team mgmt will decide on whether they need a back up for Ishant or not not about replacing him. The Indian team management will decide in the next 24 hours if they need to seek a cover for fast bowler Ishant Sharma ahead of the important four-Test series against Australia, starting on December 26. Sharma, despite the team management's best attempts to downplay his left ankle injury, is unlikely to play in the three-day match against Cricket Australia Chairman's XI on Monday. - Team management says, Ishant is fine Even if he is declared fit ahead of the first Test, the Delhi bowler could be undercooked for the rigours of Test cricket, having played no competitive match since the final Test against the West Indies in Mumbai last month. Team India would be averse to repeating the mistake of the England tour where Zaheer Khan hardly bowled in the tour opener against Somerset and later showed up with a hamstring injury after bowling a few overs on the opening day of the first Test at Lord's in July. Zaheer did not play after that on that tour as India were whitewashed 0-4. http://www.rediff.com/cricket/slide-show/slide-show-1-australia-tour-india-substitute-ishant-decided-soon-zaheer/20111217.htm
Lord Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 I knew it has to happen. He has already played so many series with troubled ankle. but why did he?could've easily skiiped WI series?
bulbul Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 I knew it has to happen. He has already played so many series with troubled ankle. :hmmm:
ganeshran Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Dinda again :wall: Looks distinctly average, not sure what he will bring to the table apart from 3-5Ks of extra pace.
G_B_ Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 i just cant see us taking 20 wickets big blow man. Only way is for us to bat out Aus for which our batsman need to fire on a consistant basis.
